I'm not sure what it is you would like to know...." Thank you very much for the information. Of course, you are right. I wasn't very specific. I think what I was curious about was how your instructor's approach to Hapkido compares with the approaches of other instructors. For instance, when I think of GM Han (ITF--US) I imagine a greater emphasis on kicking rather than grappling. When I think of GM Myung I think of more grappling and a very firm execution of technique. I was interested in how you would characterize or describe your instructors' approach to the art and how he might define a competent Hapkido practitioner according to his teaching. Does this help? BTW: OPEN QUES to LIST SUBSCRIBERS: I think Micheal Rowe mentioned a very accomplished Korean Hapkido Instructor in either Iowa or Nebraska. Does anyone remember the individual? Mike, are you listening? People are invited to point out any errors or misinformation on Korea, her history, or culture that may be found on any website around the world, such as references to the body of water between Korea and Japan as the "Sea of Japan" instead of the "East Sea," which is the proper name, the KOIS said. The contest will run for about a month, from November 19 to December 16. During the first and second contests, domestic and international participants uncovered a total of 521 errors, and efforts are being made to correct them in cooperation with online communities and the Korean government, according to the information service. Separate invitations went out to college campuses in the form of colorful posters, which urged students to participate in the contest and to show their diligence in uncovering online errors and misinformation related to Korea. There will be many prizes. The grand prizewinner will receive a cutting-edge desktop computer and a monitor to go with it. There will be three second-place winners who will each receive the latest DVD player. Thirty lucky third-place winners will each be awarded a traditional Korean handicraft item and a color diary. It is also possible to take the World Cup Quiz and win a traditional Korean handicraft item or a korea.net shoulder bag. Further details are available by contacting www.korea.net and clicking on the contest banner. ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Tue, 20 Nov 2001 12:34:40 PST Subject: the_dojang: Master Rowe > I think Micheal Rowe mentioned a very accomplished Korean Hapkido Instructor > in either Iowa or Nebraska.
