We've got a nice hotel lined up for both the seminar and lodging. A great opportunity to get down to Cancun for a little vacation time and some great Hapkido. I'll be posting more details of the seminar in the weeks to follow. If you are interested, please feel free to email me off-line, and I will pass the details to you directly as they become available. I hope we can drag Ray down for the fun. What family did he teach Hapkido too? Was it the Saudi or Bahraini royal family? My father is from Bahrain and but worked for the Saudi government before moving to Korea in the early 70's. We know a lot of the royal members of both families. I think the royal family of Bahrain is now learning Hoi Jeon Moo Sool from Grandmaster Myong Jae Ok. Matter of fact, the next HJMS games will be held there. The Bahraini governemnt is the host of the next games and everythings covered except for airfare. Good deal for HJMS students. ===== International HKD Federation-Sun Mu Kwan USA www.ushankido.org Great stuff seeking new owners in Yahoo! I had a similar thing happen, except it was my ankle. I did a jump kick, and I don't recall landing wrong, but it hurt a few minutes after (maybe 10 or 20 minutes later), kinda like a "delayed reaction" lol. But then it was fine an hour later. Another thing happened this passed week. I went to an open class on a saturday. I was practicing TKD forms, and "tricks" hehehehe. I had a problem with my "hammy" two days (yes two days) AFTER (not that day). My leg hurt. I'm testing this week and my leg still hurts. I hope they don't make me do jump kicks ..... eeeeeekkkkkk. You're not the only one strange things happen to lol. So, you are still normal lol. You wouldn't believe the storm my finding out about it caused to begin with. Hey...if the guy didn't want anyone to know...he shouldn't have been talking about it so much. I didn't much appreciate the threatening message he sent me on Warrior Scholar message board. Dan Segarra handled that one pretty well I must commend him. I got a whole bunch of info out of California sent to me about Andy Ahpo. Pretty inflamatory stuff....and I ain't gonna repeat any of it. Its kinda moot if you ask me. He's out. Typical of the FED...they are staying tight lipped about the whole matter. All I can tell you is Ahpo did contact some TSD people in the country...mostly the Western States area ...and feel them out about joining a new organization he is forming. Haven't heard a word about it since...and that was a couple of months back. Am I surprized he left?! Not in the least. That one was brewing for years. The only thing that surprized me was he left while Hwang Kee was still alive. Now the interesting thing I've learned recently is that age has finally caught up to Mr. Hwang. One source stated he hasn't had a clue what was going on around him much less with the Moo Duk Kwan for years now. While many have been waiting around for him to issue some judgements or statements over griefs lodged with the organization...the inner circle around him has relied on the fact senility has taken its toll already. They can do pretty much any unpopular thing they want....and wear down everyone else who keeps waiting to hear from head cheese on the issue. Let's face it folks......there are two MDK's now. One in Seoul....the other in New Jersey. You want to see an exodus? Just stick around till after the funeral. There will be more TSD organizations formed within one year of that than you shake a stick at. I guarantee you there will also be several contenders...or rather...contestors....claiming the torch was passed to them. It out to make the rift that happenned in Kenpo when Ed Parker passed away look like a petty family squabble. --__--__-- Message: 8 From: "ISA CONSULTATION GROUP" To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Mon, 04 Feb 2002 07:08:43 -0500 Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: what a heel Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Ray, Have you ruled out a problem with your sciactic nerve? george > >Anyone else ever encounter this? > >I've recently developed a tightness along the back of the right leg. e.g. >when going into a front stance there is a very sharp sensation in the >rear/bottom of the right heel. Strange... > > ?? > > Ray Terry > > Hello Ray, I've had what I thought was a bruised fore foot since training to run a half marathon in mid November. Two weeks ago I finally went to the podiatrist who diagnosed it as an inflamed nerve. He gave me a cortisone shot and it hasn't hurt since. The point is that I was asking others what their experience was and no-one had the right answer. Go seek professional medical help if it doesn't clear up on its own in a reasonable time. Otherwise the standard for for help is RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation) with ibuprofen to reduce inflamation.
