Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Well I'm not sure on the numbers but there was another IHF organization in Korea but I forgot the guys name. The IHF that GM Myong formed has changed there name to the International HKD Federation. HKD standing for hapkido, hankido, and hankumdo. Due to the confusion of so many IHF organization. On GM Myong's headstone it reads: the international hankdo federation. ===== International HKD Federation-Sun Mu Kwan USA www.ushankido.org Yahoo! I'd think this would be the exception, and not something one would use as a reason not to publish perhaps important historical information. Furthermore, if you are correct in your belief that there are issues there, I believe it is not in Hapkido's best interest to poke this hornets nest.>>> No offense Patrick but dude you must of read something that I didn't write? I really don't understand how you came up with this. I would not question Doju Nim Ji's judgement on his records, dude he has seen and understands more about Hapkido than I will ever know. I am just saying that there are many people that "might" be passing themselves off as this and that but actually show up on the books at certain times studying something totally different then they might lead certain people to believe. That's all. But in the land of Silat, most people only heard about Hapkido but do not know how we fight. Most of them will expect either Karate-like or Aikido-like attacks and find out the hard way that it is not what they are expecting. But yes, if you have some experience in Silat, you do know his style from the slight variations in his posture and stance. The same way we can differentiate between ITF and WTF Taekwondo. Regardless of what style he is from, the trick is, in the first few seconds you blast off, you have to dominate the fight and get him to fight your way. The same way Gracie did in the UFC. And in order to do this, you have to train very hard, as realistic as possible and try to get as many exposure from different arts as possible. Regards, S. H. Amen to that. The best defense is a crushing offense.
