I just that I don't see it as a manageable issue. Just as people choose to smoke, drink, drive fast, engage in promiscuity, lie, cheat, steal, . . . so will their organizations. In general, naturally, and over time, the stupid, sick ones will die, the wiser, stronger will survive. These are not diseases, they are choices. Now I am sure you will wish to draw a parallel about the application of medicine to cure ills, but I see it more like circumcision. No matter how many years the custom prevails - just cutting it off doesn't change how the next generation will be born. They might get the guy to duck, but I rather have him out of the fight all together. But then, as a sniper, we believe in one shot - one kill. Don't care for that automatic fire where most of the ammo you had to carry around doesn't hit anything." :-) Alain True Alain, but some of us are not trained, nor have the time to train as snipers. I have a 9 shot Mossberg shotgun alternating slugs with buckshot. I just want to clear the brush so I can "git at em" and choke the living daylights out of them. Who the heck mentioned that I don't want women in the Dojang. Geez, suggest you go back and rethink your research methodology. I threw out a few one liners which you equated to not wanting women in the Dojang. Are you snorting something over at Bloomington ? Do you think I am that politically incorrect to write something as ridiculous as that. I may have mentioned the feminization of the military which has been commented on by military authors. I referenced that but did not subscribe to that philosophy. The rest of your disseration I would comment on since I was having a little fun and being in an Ivory Tower you miss the apparent nuances of street "wolfing". Can I sell you some tickets to the elevators at P.S. 64 in Queens or how about an investment in the Brooklyn Bridge. Now back to reality please. McD... P.S. Are you still angry on the Gorilla joke I pulled on you last year on this digest. Similarly, you overreacted. P.S. 2. The instructor told me that she would be my partner. I told the instructor "You pairing me up with another dame ?" My instructor, in his most Budhist wisdom, said "When you learn to deal with your anger toward women you will truly be a great martial artist...until then you are a stereotypical male chauvinist from Times Square..." I shrugged, but accepted my fate. We started doing the basic stuff, re: Ki Bohn Soos, Sohn Mohk Soo, and a little Maek Cha Ki. I liked this chick. She was a class act ! I would let her carry my uniform if she wanted. Not being totally male chauvinistic-- I believed in equal opportunity. Soon we were buds in and outside the DoJang. She took as much as I gave, and one time kicked me in my family jewels (when I was not lookin of course). I told the instructor, "You know these dames ain't so bad...this one is a pretty good broad...I sorta like her." My instructor just shook his head and I blurted, "What, what did I say wrong" My instructor, using his hands told me "I have shown you the tiger, but you have not seen the dragon." I said, "Whadda talkin about, your not Jeff Speakman in the Perfect Weapon." I called up my Rat Pack buddies and we hit the watering holes. I even wore my Frank Sinatra, Pork Pie hat. I don't care what these nampy pampy guys over at the big school say. I like my booze and ok, Ladies. Thats me. I like it that way. And, I now accept the fact that ladies should be in Dojangs. What's the big deal. I mean these broads can really fight. And, forgetabout me being a male chauvinistic pig. If any guys try to pinch or lay a hand on any of my Dojang Dames. Why I will pulverize em ! I may be from the streets but I am trying to change my attitudes. I mean I dont got a PhD and hang out at the "Cafe" discussin the Beat Generation, but I sorta like the idea of dames in Dojangs. This coed stuff is great. Especially in the locker rooms. True story. When you are required to train a fellow student, what makes you lose patience with them the most? Trying to get them to understand the forms? Getting them to think? Trying to get them to concentrate? I really would like to know so that I can be a student who is easier to train. I have asked lots of questions about how to understand the teaching methods of SOME black belts, and I have only been given 1 positive response. I am not thin skinned, I just want to learn how to understand the higher ranks. Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net It is illegal in the U.S. to tote a gun with a 15 shot magazine. You can own the preban high capacity mags if they came with your firearm and you can prove it but the maximum mag capacity in the U.S. now is 10 bullets,, lets face it though,, if you need 10 bullets, then what you really need is more time at the range,, Michael Tomlinson _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx --__--__-- Message: 10 From: Ray Terry To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net (The_Dojang) Date: Mon, 11 Mar 2002 19:39:35 -0800 (PST) Subject: [The_Dojang] 'only' 5-day work week Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Gov't to Try Out Five-Day Workweek March 11, 2002 The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs plans to try a five-day workweek system for its employees in April, before the new formula is legislated and introduced to the nation, Minister Lee Keun-shik said on Monday (March 11). In a report to President Kim Dae-jung, Minister Lee said that his ministry is under consultation with related government agencies to reduce weekly working hours of ministry employees from the current 44 to 40 hours a week. The plan, which is expected to be implemented ahead of the May 31 - June 30 World Cup finals, is aimed at identifying inadequacies in the new system before extending it to the private sector. The arrangement is intended to help prevent side effects that might arise at domestic workplaces, the minister reported to the President. Since May 2000, representatives of labor, management and the government have been discussing the introduction of the five-day workweek within the framework of the Korean Tripartite Commission. Although they share the need for such a method, the sides have so far failed to narrow their differences concerning the amount of annual leave and compensation for wage losses arising from the shortened work hours. --__--__-- Message: 11 Date: Mon, 11 Mar 2002 19:11:37 -0800 (PST) From: Sun Mu Kwan-USA To: Dojang digest Subject: [The_Dojang] Death of GM Myong Jae Ok's Son Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net I am very sorry to report that GM Myong Jae Ok's son, Seung Ha, passed away two weeks ago from complications with liver cancer.
