Last time I was there, there was a Korean guy teaching in the fitness room a few times a week. Also, check with the American Embassy, they should have a few contacts, or they might put you in contact with someone that can help. There is a Hapkido (Hoi Jeon Moo Sool) guy in Bahrain. My old teacher there is: Master Kyo Sig Kang 973-692-629 He still has a school in Bahrain, but the govt only lets him teach the security forces and those that go thru an extensive background check. We had a little trouble with internal disturbances back in 1994, and the Bahraini govt did not like the idea of everybody getting this kind of training. Anyway, Master Kang has several students that now teach throughout the gulf. I know of one in Oman, UAE, and Qatar. He might have one in Kuwait. Good luck, and if you decide to try to call Master Kang, please give him my regards. A word of advise, members of the DD don't often use their titles etc. Hard to get used to for me too:) Rudy --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Tue, 19 Mar 2002 14:38:09 -0800 (PST) From: Sun Mu Kwan-USA To: Dojang digest Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: Re: Re: Bulgogi Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net <> Kimchi burgers are the best. I have been told by several of my students that I should write a book about some of the nonsense I have seen over the last 35 years, disguised as martial arts..For instance...1) An adult white belt forms competitor who dressed like the cartoon character from the original "Karate Kid Comics" complete with a painted on goatee and mustache...2) An instructor doing the well known TKD form "Mass Attack" which took an entire gymnasium floor to complete....3) A black belt "master" that lost his pants during a form and was absolutely AMAZED that he didn't win a trophy.......4) The "ninja" that chased the judges around the room with a non-cutting blade, dropped it on the floor, and in a move designed to cover up this faux pas, rolled over it, giving it permanent dog-leg to the left....5) A "master" who, after failing to cut a one inch sapling with a cutting blade during a demonstration, was heard to mumble a epithet after trying to force his upside-down blade into the scabbard....Unfortunately, I could go on and on........J.
