Compare the physics from WW2 to the physics of today.. and the martial arts of that time to today's. I think everyone would agree that today's physics are better than they were 50 yrs ago. This is not to say that the old physics are bad, only that there have been improvements since that time. 1000's of men sharing knowledge across the globe, each building on each others work has brought man to a much much improved knowledge of science. Today students still learn the BASICS of physics much like they were taught back then. But no one (in there right mind heh) believes that all the improvements and changes since that time are wrong. I doubt there are schools teaching only the physics up to 1944 .. with anything after that being considered different and therefore wrong. I believe that comparison can transfer to the martial arts. 1000's of men sharing knowledge across the globe (instead of small schools with locked doors refusing to let anyone see what they practice) have and will continue to bring changes (IMPROVEMENTS) to the martial arts. This program, developed by the Olympic Solidarity Commission, is design to assist athletes nominated by their respective National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in their preparation and qualification for the coming Olympics. It offers NOCs the possibility of obtaining comprehensive financial and technical assistance for a certain number of elite athletes seeking to qualify for the Athens Olympics. The program is primarily aimed at promoting the universality of the Olympic Games, so priorities in the course of selection will be given to the athletes from the NOCs that traditionally sent small delegations to the Olympic Games. Those selected are able to receive intensive training from the top-notch coaches of each Olympic sport at appropriate training centers either in their home countries or abroad at the expense of the IOC. Taekwondo practitioners preparing for the Olympics are also eligible for the scholarship. Therefore, those aspiring to enhance their chances of competing in the coming Olympics through the scholarship are required to apply for the program through their respective NOCs by the end of July 2002. However, those having the record of being convicted of drug offence or other wrong doings will not be eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded and operational in the period between Aug 1 2002 and July 31, 2004. The WTF is set to be involved in the program as the IOC asks WTF to estimate each candidate from taekwondo whether he or she has the technical ability required for Olympic qualification which will be a major factor in the selection of awardees. Others detail and application forms are available at the office of your NOCs.
