He thought it was a good idea so I am including the information about the seminar for anyone who is interested. >From my instructor: Our next CDT NON-DEADLY FORCE TRAINING course, CDT Level 1, is scheduled for Fri. April 19 and Sat. April 20 from 9:00am to 3:30pm both days. Refreshments are provided, and wear long pants. CDT Training Course Outline Level 1 Tactical Control (14 to 16 hrs.) This is a comprehensive course on the application and use of non-deadly force as it applies to personal self-protection. Students will be educated in the legal concept of the “Use of Proper Justified Force” and how it pertains to the everyday citizen in a physical altercation. Students will learn a variety of techniques that consist of low level stunning, activation points, escorts, and compliance techniques that can be used to control another person without causing permanent damage. Students will also learn a variety of diffusion and escape techniques from the most statistically occurring real world attacks. The basis of this course will be to teach students how to quickly and effectively gain control of another person while lessening the possibility of injury to all involved. There are only ten slots available to take advantage of this discounted offer as we introduce people to CDT NON-DEADLY FORCE TRAINING. I look forward to training with you and including you in the CDT family. Hurry, space is very limited, discounted course price of $325 Call 813-962-5748 to register or for more information. -------- Timothy S. I have a bad back and knees and due to my age, I fell and my knee crushed his skull. I'm deeply sorry for the accident and I'm going through therapy to help me deal with my grief." Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Craig, I agree 100% That is exactly why I chose CDT after researching my options. They are the only system I see that REALLY takes the legalities into consideration. Like I said before you may win on the street and lose in the court. CDT gives us a legal level of force option. If it's a black or white/cut and dry scenario (maniac with a weapon with lots of witnesses) then your chances of success are very good. If it's not cut and dry/black or white scenario then you may be rolling the dice and gambling with your future by not knowing the legalities involved. Being a trained martial artist can be used against you in court and be played to ignorant jurors. Being trained in CDT and properly applying it cant be used against you because the very nature of it is you use less force than they do. Remember though less force doesn't mean less pain >; ) Properly applied CDT techniques can make you wish you never heard of those three letters. --__--__-- Message: 5 From: Ray Terry To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Wed, 10 Apr 2002 23:55:23 PDT Subject: [The_Dojang] Justified use of deadly force Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net On the topic of justified use of deadly force, -perhaps- the best introduction you can receive on this topic is the 4 day (four long 10 hour days) LFI-1 course (Lethal Force Institute - 1) from Mas Ayoob. Yes, it is a shooting course, but lethal force is lethal force; knife, shotgun, assault weapon (whatever that is), ball bat or shod foot. Most of the time is spent on the justified use of deadly force and what can/will occur to you should you ever have to employ deadly force to save yourself or another. IMHO, very eye opening and well worth the investment of your time and hard earned $$. http://www.ayoob.com LFI-I Tuition - $700.00 April 18 - 21, 2002 ~ Howell, MI July 25 - 28, 2002 ~ Milwaukee/Ripon, WI April 25 - 28, 2002 ~ Allentown, PA August 5 - 9, 2002 ~ Dunbarton, NH May 2 - 5, 2002 ~ Winamac, IN August 29 - September 1, 2002 ~ Richmond, VA May 23 - 26, 2002 ~ Dunbarton, NH September 19 - 22, 2002 - Wallingford, CT May 30 - June 2, 2002 ~ Denver, CO October 17 - 20, 2002 ~ Hudsonville, MI June 15, 16, 22 & 23, 2002 ~ Portland, OR/Chehalis, WA October 31 - November 3, 2002 ~ Springdale, AR June 27 - 30, 2002 ~ Dunbarton, NH November 14 - 17, 2002 ~ Forest, MS July 18 - 21, 2002 ~ Dunbarton, NH December 12 -15, 2002 ~ Live Oak, FL Sorry for the formatting, I just cut/pasted from a web form.
