There over two hundred and forty different Christian denominations. If Christians can't agree on what a Christian is, how can a "NON BELEIVER". If you want to talk bible I'm ready, talk about contradictions, thus two hundred and forty interpretations. Christians against violence, does the word Crusades ring a bell. --__--__-- Message: 2 Date: Sun, 21 Apr 2002 13:02:05 +0200 From: Klaus Steinberger To: the_dojang Subject: [The_Dojang] Hyong Videos on www.hyong.net Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hello, on http://www.hyong.net/ you could find videos of Hyong 1 - 20 and Bassai Hyong. To view the videos, the Real Player Plugin is necessary for you're browser. The Hyongs were performed by Instructors of Volkshochschule München and Volkshochschule Pullach. Yes, I do. First off, I refrain from getting entangled in discussions regarding the moral implications of MA training with people who advise me before hand that they have "a few pro-s to counter their cons". Secondly, I avoid engaging in discussions regarding moral implications of any sort with folks who post from some of the sites of higher missionary work in the world. My guess is that if you feel the need to defend what you are doing to others perhaps you shouldn't be doing it--- or--- perhaps you should find a new group of others to relate to. To put it another way, and speaking only METAPHORICALLY, what are you doing "carrying a gun" if you have to "beg bullets from others"? From another point of view--- and I don't know if this point applies to you or not----- what are you doing "carrying a gun" if it now means you are having a hard time "identifying targets." Sorry can't/won't help you, Bruce --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Sun, 21 Apr 2002 14:28:46 -0500 From: "Bruce Sims" To: Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: Revisioists Unite!! Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Dear Ray: ".....Thought Bruce would get a kick out of this....... "In 1904 Japan invaded Korea. After conquering the country, Japan imposed martial law banning all martial arts. Masters of the martial arts were forced to hide in the remote monastries and mountains in order to preserve and pass on their knowledge to disciples; only in this way could they carry on the martial art tradition of passing their ancestors skills to the next generation." "The martial art ban lasted 36 years until 1945. Choi, Young Sool was one of those masters who took to the mountains with him the skills of Hapkido. During his 36 years in the mountains he developed and modernized Hapkido..." ..................." This crap just never stops, does it? :-) But hey... why stop there? I spent Saturday with GM Ji. Applying the "Rim Rule of Succession" I am now qualified to identify myself as the designated successor to Sin Mu Hapkido. Its not that I have any any documents to attest to my claim, though for the third time in my Hapkido career I have a damaged rotator cuff----- and from the SAME DAMN TECHNIQUE!!! :-) But lets just cut to the chase---- you can start addressing me as "Supreme Omnipotent Grand Poobah and Well-Spring of All Wisdom" as of today...... and the checks can be made out to Midwest Hapkido. As my first act of business I am resurrecting a little known Korean custom first attributed to GM Choi while he was hiding in those Korean mountains. The rite requires Quaker State 10W30 and an accomodating Gopher. Film at 11. BTW: There is more than a little to suggest that Gopher Throwing techniques arose from circumstances associated with attempts at this exotic art with less-than-compliant animals. Please see M West for details.
