But if you do choose to view it let it motivate you >to train harder and longer, to overcome the types that would do something >like this. > >Stay safe. > I viewed this yesterday and felt ill. Unless you have a strong constitution I advise not looking. I became angry, (hell, INFURIATED), sad, and host of other emotions all at once. The beasts who did this deserve nothing but pain for the remainder of their lives, and afterlives. I am not sure it is appropriate to post it, but as the web site stated, as a reporter Mr. Pearl would most likely defend the use of it. God rest his soul, and may the devil take his murderers. dave weller student wtf tkd "Practice a thousand hours and you learn self discipline. Boyd" To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Insa-Dong and Memorial Day Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net To add a bit of balance to the sanitized newspaper reports describing Memorial Day and the Insa-Dong area I offer the following: On Memorial Day a siren was not heard nationwide, it was only audible if you were near where it sounds. Most of those who were not required to work (despite it being a national holiday) stayed at home and slept or watched the World Cup on TV. About 40 or 50% of houses displayed a Korean flag - the real traditional response to a holiday. As for Insa-Dong, the descriptions were quite accurate but failed to mention two things. The quality of the goods in this area is sometimes higher than places like Itaewon or Myung-Dong but the prices always are. The largest and most visible coffee/tea spot in "traditional Insa-Dong" is a gigantic Starbucks, followed by the 7-11. Korea is more like home than it seems on the surface. I find that the really alien stuff is found almost exclusively in interpersonal relations. ===== Anthony Boyd: Swordsman and English Teacher www.stormpages.com/haidonggumdo Yahoo! - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang http://the-dojang.net It's a great day for Taekwondo!
