Choi obituaries Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net All, I would like to add my expression of sadness at hearing the news of the departure of one of the founders of TKD. A sad day indeed. This is how the Gen.'s death has been reported in Korea. http://www.koreaherald.co.kr/SITE/data/html_dir/2002/06/18/200206180052.asp http://search.hankooki.com/search/search.api?84;kt;http://www.hankooki.com/t imes/200206/t2002061719504940110.htm I haven't found any articles in Korean yet. But we do have a Holiday Inn Express, anyone smell a road trip? Also there was a question of chul gi III, yes, 2 and three exist, but I haven't gotten to them yet. I have seen chul gi 2, but haven't been interested in learning it early. Maybe this is a good chance. Chul Gi 3 may be another I try to pick up also, but until my upcoming test is done with, I don't want to mix my mind up. I did go to Louisiana Public School You Know... <> Your story of Iron Claw was beautiful. Others might want to have it archived (like on Master Mac's site) so if you'd like to get it taped.....we could meet in Jackson and I or Master Mac would be happy to share Naihanji (aka Chulgi)1,2&3 with you. Or if you'd like I'll send you a VHS with Naihanji 1-3 on it (just send me your snail mail direct to my email. I understand about getting mixed up with a test comming. I've seen Jion and Oh Sip Sa Bo several times now and declined Master Mac's offer to teach me Oh Sip as I'm still polishing Wansu...For my research/info about what level are Chulgi II & III introduced? <> As for calling the style Tang Soo Do, NO. Just No. If you don't want to call us Tae Kwon Do, you may call us Korean Karate, since that seems to be a better reference anyway. Our group is very American-ized. Master chittim once said (talking about using foreign commands in class) "if talking korean or japanese will make me a better fighter, I'll talk korean and japanese". Mr Chittim Spoke fluent redneck only. <> Kewl, just curious we speek fluent redneck and mountain boy here in the North Georgia mountains. <> AND besides that, has your mom ever screamed your whole name when you were in trouble, well I get that same feeling when my class yells out "YES SA BUM NIM VEULEMAN" so sensei works great. :D <> My students just call me Sa Bum Nim in class and the adults just call me Charles outside of class. Of course I have one hip-hop pre-teen who likes to call me M.C. outside of class...the appropriate southern version for youth is "Mr. Charles" Yours in Jung Do, Charles "Bubba M.C." Randall Sexton www.laughinghara.com Randall writes: > Anyway, it got me thinking. What gifts have y'all gotten for > your instructors for your dan testings, if you do? Hi Randall: In the old days, this token of appreciation was something we all did. When we did give this token of appreciation, it came from the heart. It was not asked for or expected. I think today very few students even think about telling their Instructors "thanks". Just one more way the arts are changing I guess.
