I am currently learning the Hyung, Kong San Goon and would like to learn more about it origins and history. According to GM Kang UK Lee's Book "Tang Soo Do - The ultimate guide to the Korean marial art" this hyung was devised by Ggung and Ssang Gween who lived in the Ha Nam China. I would really appreciate any advice or potential leads you may be able to provide. Be Good. Korea with Chang Ung as head. 2. another in Canada with Gen. Choi's son at the helm. 3. and another group based in Vienna with Russell MacLellan running the show. Is this right? I feel for the dedicated ITF practitioners who are caught in the midst of this maelstrom. Does anyone see hope for this organization to return to a single entity, or will there be 3 (or more) ITF's when the dust settles? Just curious, I have no stake in it one way or the other. -- dave weller student wtf tkd "Practice a thousand hours and you learn self discipline. Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hello everyone on the DD. I've gotten an email with a spoofed email address that first appears as if it came from the DD. It has an email address of the_dojang-owner@yahoo.com with the subject line of "The_Dojang-Digest V8#145" I know that it likely was not sent by Mr. Terry's computer and could not have come from the actual list server. This is the second time I have received this virus and on the second machine. I have a fairly hardened system and have not actually been infected. However I'm guessing that more than one or two of you out there have been. This is an extremely nasty trojan/worm that will allow a malicious hacker to do all sorts of bad things with your computer. He can steal passwords, credit card numbers, delete files, run programs, end processes (i.e. firewalls and anti-virus software), and if that weren't bad enough, the worm is self-replicating and uses anything that remotely resembles a legitimate email to mail itself to all of the addresses in your address book. It will also glean as many email addresses as it can from ANYWHERE on your hard drive, or from saved messages in folders. Some of you definitely have this ugly "mal-ware" running on your system, and I strongly suggest ALL of you that are not certain that you are safe, to visit the websites listed below. If you are not real security savvy use someone else's computer to get any downloads or info you need from the internet and DO NOT go back online until you are sure you're safe. This is no joke bugbear is a serious threat to your system and private information. Please don't send me this virus a third time. Yes, we talk about maintaining eye contact to show that you are strong and not intimidated. Thus, not looking like prey to the attacker. But, while the above statement makes sense, I have another opinion on that topic. Maintaining eye contact can be interpreted as a sign of aggression to some people. Thus, pushing their buttons and starting something that may have otherwise been avoided. Anyone have comments on this as well as personal space drills? --__--__-- Message: 9 From: Ray Terry Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] Bugbear again.... Given how the addr was incorrect this was a very easy one to spot. All of these have obviously not from our list, obvious in one way or another. Given the TOC one suspects this was perhaps sent from one of our old friends in a Florida based org...??? Yep, and I suspect there will be more as time goes on. But then there were several ITF-splinter groups prior to the above. Of course, they didn't attempt to name their group ITF. But you have to remember that they won't score a point for punching if it doesn't knock you down, or visibly faze you. What you have to do is just punch them back, as hard as you can, kind of pushing them back (but don't push them or you'll get a warning), then just kick them while they're stumbling back. Hope this helps, if you have anymore inquiries, just e-mail me. Ryan __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus – Powerful. Affordable. Do you kick hard? If yes, stop the puncher on the way in with a nice HARD kick the keep kicking. Remember to keep your elbows in while kicking as to not let the puncer back in to score. Otherwise, three strategies: 1- move quickly (almost run) to gain your distance advantage and kick. 2-Punch back (ie push-punch) them away to get your distance, then kick. 3- Can you kick to the head? If yes, manouver toe-to-toe then when the puncher is on top of you, front-leg hook kick to the back of the head or if not spin-hook (or spin-back) kick to the front or side of the puncher.
