Geez Ray....anyone who's seen GM Han's videos knows who Masters Friskee and Cruz are! After all...they are his "Cheap Instructors" :-) Sorry...couldn't resist. By no means is this meant to be disrespectful to GM Han's broken english (or Masters Friskee and Cruz)....but I have to laugh everytime I hear him introduce them as his Cheap Instructors, obviously meaning "Chief" Instructors. BTW....I've had people emailing me about the whereabouts of my website. Just would like all to know that the "Korean Hoshinsool Online" website is now hosted by the http://www.martialartsresource.com website, courtesy of Master Ray Terry. In similar push with a curved blade, the curved edge of a tool has only a small portion (depending on the amount of the curve) of the blade do the pushing. The edges of a curved blade would cut because they are on an angle to the tomatoe (and therefore draw as you continue to push down). I now this is not a very good explanation, and I could probably do a better job if I had a chance to make a picture of this idea. Hope you get what I mean anyways:) Sincerely, Rudy --__--__-- Message: 3 From: ABurrese@aol.com Date: Wed, 23 Apr 2003 00:10:28 EDT To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: Hapkido and age Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net I have taught people over 50. (Had a TKD instructor's father, who was a surgeon in my classes when I taught at the University, and I think he was around 60) You modify what you do. Did he want to learn or expect to do the jump spinning kicks, or the high air falls? No. Did he have to learn them to practice safely and do Hapkido? No. He could still do basic falls and have people take him down quickly without getting hurt, and he could do the same to them. The key to training should be to better yourself. Not necessarily be better than someone else. I think anyone who wants to learn and puts the effort in can benefit from HKD. Each person must realize their limits and any special circumstances that they may have to train around, but that doesn't mean you can better yourself and learn to better defend yourself it needed. And have a lot of fun and meet good people in the process! Some turned out good, some not as good. The group shots of DD members are not bad. I will get them scanned in the next couple days and post to my web site, then if you want a copy I can scan one and send it to you. (depending on what you want, I can scan it at higher resolution for you) Alain www.burrese.com --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang http://the-dojang.net It's a great day for Taekwondo!
