You will go far if you keep asking. Yes there are differences but mostly they come from the fact that people are different. Each person makes their own style, hopefully. I have not seen that yet, but wondered if a review I wrote is in that issue? It would be a short book or video review of a Paladin title. It was supposed to be in the June or July issue I believe, so was just wondering. I'll have to go look for the magazines. Hi Lucy, Oh Do Kwan (aka Gym of My Way) was founded by General Choi, who many think of as the Father of Taekwondo. That gym/style later morphed into the ITF, which was headed by Gen. Choi until his death last year. So I suspect?? you are seeing at your school a fairly traditional style of Taekwondo (Korean Karate) as it was practiced in the 1950s and 60s. Which can be a good thing... Or it could be more sport Taekwondo oriented (which can also be a good thing) where your instructor traces his lineage back to an Oh Do Kwan master. Warrior Challenge. They pull together modern day policemen, athletes, military, etc to learn different ancient warrior training techniques and then test them in same. Interesting...
