Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Good Sir: Amen to most of what you say. It's easy to tell someone to ignore the politics, and I suppose that the really petty things should be ignored so we DO focus on becoming better people. But to ignore blatent slaps, see people passed over for appointment, promotiion or what have you, and be told in a cult-like manner to "focus on your training" is a very difficult thing. Was it Confusius who said that "to say or do nothing implies approval? Anyway, it was nice to hear that someone has similar views on a sometimes touchy situation. I am not sure why this did not make sense the other times I read it. I also looked at a similar description for the other Taegeuk's as well. Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark M. Smith" To: Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2003 11:28 PM Subject: [The_Dojang] Question on starting and stopping point for Tae Geuk Poomse Tom, The following link from the Kukkiwon web site shows the last move of TaeGuek 1. http://www.kukkiwon.or.kr/eng/Tkskill/pomsae.asp?div=3&pomsae=201&serial=722 The text says, End : fixing the right foot as it is at the "Na" position, draws the left foot to turn the body leftward (counterclockwise), looking toward the direction of "Ga", and returns to the kibon junbi seogi. This clearly states moving the left foot and returning to "kibon junbi seogi" or as you spell it "Chimbee" junbi = Chimbee This is taken directly from the Kukkiwon book, so I am not sure why you might be having trouble seeing it. Hope this helps. Honestly, that's who I'll be going to talk to about questions. The reason I suggested people contacting me is because Master Bae seems to be flooded with emails regarding the situation in America. I thought I might try to help him out a little. Just let me know what I can do and I'll try.
