Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Good Sir: I have always found it to be my personal way, if not the way of those around me, to do my very best to do things in a manner that is both decent and correct. This has costed me dearly on the job and in my personal life, however,in the morning I can still look the guy in the mirror in the eye. I hold "poitics" in much disdain, as I can not think of anything gained from these processes which are not ill-gotten. You are correct when you say that these ways have invaded most facets of our lives, however if enough of us can stand up to these cretins in any organization ( martial arts, governmental, or even religious) perhaps we can send them scurrying back under the rocks from whence they crept. As a martial artist,it is my obligation to be the best example of a human being I can be in my home, and in my community. It is my hope as a human being that we can use the wisdom we accrue to put forth decency and honor back to their rightful places in the world. I laud your efforts and wish you all the best. I have found them extremely informative and helpful, and they are both only small downloads, with a nominal registration fee to unlock the full features of the program. http://www.declan-software.com I hope this is of some help with your Korean studies. I just wanted to share my thoughts on Master Timmerman's seminar in Houston. I attended the seminar with 4 of my students and we had a great time. Master Timmerman was very patient, informative and willing to share an incredible amount of detail with the group. He started off with a demonstration of the first 8 self-defense techniques of Kong Shin Bup with advance applications; it made an incredible statement as to the effectiveness of his art. Everyone got to interact personally with Master Timmerman and his senior instructors, who worked hard to make sure that everyone learned the techniques in proper form. Master Timmerman has a great demeanor and an easy going personality. I'd highly recommend the seminar to anyone who can attend next year. Kat Kelly was a great hostess. She has a good group of students and the environment was extremely welcoming. You can tell she truly loves the martial arts and transfers that energy to her students. I also had the chance to meet Master MacHenry who taught a session on sweeps. His practical approach was well received by students and I think he now has the reputation of being unmovable. At one point he took a strong front stance and did not allow himself to be swept. Many students had to make 5-10 attempts before they could knock him down. This was a great exercise for people to learn what it really takes to sweep someone versus their training partner just falling down. I also met Keith Wicker a fellow Taekwondo Stylist. Keith is a great martial artist and had some very insightful questions during the seminar. Keith was kind enough to demonstrate some of Master West's Self-Defense techniques which impressed my students very much. We will be getting a group together to attend Master West's seminar in October. He also showed how to incorporate Taekwondo follow-ups with the techniques which my students found particularly interesting. All in all it was a great time for learning, sharing and just having fun. We even did some belt/rope techniques and in true Texas tradition learned how to "Hog Tie" an attacker. Regards, Jason E. Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Thank you Jason for all your kind words. I really enjoyed meeting and working with you and your students. They are a credit to you and your skill. Having Master Rudy Timmerman along with SBN Lorne Keatley and SBN Kevin Janisse back in Houston and in my school has made our first year a complete success. I would also like to thank Master Dennis McHenry and Mr. Keith Wicker for all their help. And to you as well for teaching in our mini after lunch session. We are definately planning on making this an annual event so mark you calendars and make plans to attend, you can be certain that you will not be disappointed. I will update our web-site as soon as possible, and as always please feel free to sign the guest book when surfing. Thanks again to everyone who attended yesterday.
