The KKW or any other > organization does not dictate how or what I require for my schools tests. In my country, there is only one person authorised to certify people through Kukkiwon. The level of testings led by this person is very low. Individual Kukki-Taekwondo schools can't promote their students to blackbelts in Poland - they have to take part in this national or regional level gradings, and they have absolutely no influence on the material tested. Aside from the friendly/traditional rivalry that Marines and sailors have I discovered that y'all are some of the hardest working and professional folk I've ever seen. Over the years I've often remarked how my admiration grew after observing sailors at sea. I also reflect on all the ignorant though joking banter that went before with a sigh due to youth. It was fun though! Thanking you in advance, be safe, fair winds and "Semper FI"! --__--__-- Message: 8 From: Ray Terry To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net (The_Dojang) Date: Tue, 2 Sep 2003 19:05:01 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [The_Dojang] False info Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Why do people make up stories that are so easy to check out... The following post was made by our friend down in Florida. A quick investigation indicates that Gm Ji did NOT meet with Mr. Hackworth in Philly on Sun or any other time recently. He was busy doing other things and didn't even know Mr. Hackworth was in Philly, if he actually was. Gm Ji indicated that he would NOT have met with Mr. Hackworth even if he had been asked to, and he was not asked to. I guess that puts that 'story' to rest. Very, very enjoyable, and quite the learning opportunity. From little tweaks to well-known Hapkido techniques, to the never-before-seen Dan Jong stick, it was both educational and entertaining. I wish more people had been able to attend. Thank you, Master Booth! The only testing fees we now have at my school is the association fees for dan testing under the WKSA. The fee for the WKSA 1st degree is $350 and that is the only testing fee charged during their underbelt training. I know of students in my area that have tested in TKD and HKD that are required to pay a minimum of $25 per stripe and $50 per belt with a $500 1st degree testing fee. They test an average of one time every one to two months. I realize this is a touchy subject for some I am just interested in how other schools around the nation compare.
