Both gave me the government of Korea but told me that it had moved to a new site (www.korea.net)." I also undertook a search by going to the US Supreme Court's website and they do not have a link to any other court! I guess that proves that the Supreme Court has no jurisdiction over any other court and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong. The mere fact that they don't mention their powers or link to a specific organization doesn't mean that much. For those truly concerned about an association's advertising, the answer is quite simple. In the US you just have to call the attorney general's office of the state they are apparently located in and turn them in for consumer fraud. The AGs have quite a lot of experience in prosecuting organizations with various claims and one of their favorite targets is MA schools. If you see, for example, the World Kido Federation or something like that in the papers with GM In Sun Seo, being hauled away to jail for fraud, then maybe we have a winner. Instead of seeing people be proactive, many of us sit on this list complaining that "so and so's rank isn't recognized by this organization, and that organization isn't official." Rich Hodder, Mister Timmerman, and Dakin Burdick are three that I can recall. ....." Thanks for the heads-up. I had been caught up in that flurry of e-mails in the last couple of weeks ("details", "screensaver", "movie") and had been careful not to open them up--- though my curiousity was working overtime. Before that I had to have a virus cleaned off following various exchanges with a number of supporters from down in Florida. I'm not drawing any conclusions but maybe the next time I go "slumming" I'll take along a couple of TROJANS of my own, right? :-) BTW: To Ray-- Does your ISP have protection against such things? Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net > BTW: To Ray-- Does your ISP have protection against such things? I suspect what you really want to know is... is it possible to receive a virus via this list? No, it is not. At least not with the current level of virus technology. That question has been answered before. Best way to never catch a computer cold is to: (1) Do not open attachments that you receive, whether you know the person that sent it or not. (2) Keep your virus defs up to date. (3) Do not use a Windows machine. Attachments are not sent out by this list. If you recieve one, it is not from this list. Any attachment sent from you back to the list are automatically removed, so even if those msgs were sent back out to the dist list the virus has been removed. Yes, my virus defs are up to date on my personal Mac box. I use Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS boxes. Somewhere I do have a Windoze box. I boot it up about once a year to see if it still works. I am lucky. I have yet to get a virus on any machine I have ever used. Yes, I am keeping my fingers crossed. > In Fact -- > Question to DD Folks: how many have effective virus protection on their > systems thats' current? Please send that info directly to Bruce, not to the list. :) Ray Terry rterry@idiom.com --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Sat, 6 Sep 2003 12:51:09 -0400 From: Rudy Timmerman To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Training with the GM Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Michael writes: > Maybe his method of teaching has changed or maybe I'm just in the right > place at the right time. I organized seminars for WKSA for many, many years, and in addition I did the seminar tour as Instructor. Rarely, if ever, did I see GM Suh personally teach a session. I do acknowledge that GM Suh took time aside to teach me personally at my own seminar and at various other seminars. I also acknowledge that I could hardly walk at that time, let alone train hard; however, my students were certainly eager to train. In conclusion, I did not say that the seminars were not valuable. We had the good fortune to have a number of great Masters come to teach, and most of them did a fantastic job from the 6:00 am meditation session right through to the evening campfire sessions. All I said was that most of the Black Belts under my guidance did not receive training from GM Suh. Lets not read anything else into that statement, as it was said to simply explain my wonderment of the decisions of some of them to stay with WKSA for the certification. Hello Eric: I have also received some returns like that; however, I have scanned for virus contamination regularly without encountering problems. If anyone receives unsolicited e-mail from me please beware, as I seldom if ever send out anything to non NKMAA members unless it is a reply to their post. I had started learning staff and cane techniques a few years ago, but then moved to a new city and lost touch with my old master. I'd would like to start practicing again. I'm particularly interested in forms with the staff that have a 'Korean' feel to them. Most books that I've seen so far are particular to some form of Karate (Japanese). Thanks.
