If anyone hears or reads otherwise please let me know....." I understand you to say that this information was published in TKD TIMES? Personally, if your credibility is worth much to you, I would call Carol at the TKD TIMES office in Bettendorf, Iowa and have them print a retraction in the next issue. In my expereince Carol has been very responsive to issues as they arise. I know at first cast it might seem like this is a bit of over-reaction but we still don't know how all of this stuff will shake out, and not knowing that I would think it best that you put as much distance as you can between yourself and the sinking ship. FWIW. Is that to be believed? :)............." You are only partly correct. True to our promise of pursuing research in the best interests of the KMA community the WSA HAS retained the services of the esteemed Dr. and former GM to assist with a decelleration experiment of my own design. The protocol includes assessing the tensile strength of scrotal tissue by dropping the good Dr. from the Goodyear blimp ( I trust the irony is not lost on some) with a stout bungee cord attached to his genitals. I expect the protocol to proceed without a problem as soon as we can determine how one might secure the bungee cord to such a miniscule site. :-) Best Wishes, Bruce --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Tue, 16 Dec 2003 17:27:54 -0600 (CST) From: To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] =?iso-8859-1?Q?Re:_What_I_expect_?= Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Dear Dave: "......You might check the black piece of cloth around your waist. One of the organizations you mention conferred that honor on you. And, I would guess, gave you the training and skill set to match. My question is: What more do you expect?....." There is much truth in what you say, and were I solely in this for myself I would heartily agree and go my way. Thinking back on this whole mess with the Florida bunch, and losing my job, and catching a raft of s*** on a regular basis one could reasonably ask why I might choose to continue to beat a dead horse. My answer is simple. It comes with the territory. Once I accepted a Black length of cotton to wear around my waist I was didicated to a particular manner of conducting my life. More than that, I was likewise committed to making sure that the very best of that way of life would get passed on to the next generation. Dr. Kimm does it his way. JR and Rudy do it their way. GM Ji does it his way and so on down the path. I volunteer for activities and give the very best I can because THAT is what I want people to remember the Hapkido arts to be. The problem is that the negative experiences seem to have extraordinarily greater staying power so we have to work much harder to make sure people know about and remember the great people and the positive things and don't imagine that experiences like what we are going through now are in any way the norm or even acceptable. Now there is also the other side of the coin. Not only do the positive people, places and things need to be stressed, but the people who don't hold up their end of a bargain need to be held accountable. You are absolutely right. I hold my three BB ranks from GM Myung and I am very proud of my WHF membership; to proud to let the WHF deteriorate into a venue for rank sales. As long as it is represented as a viable international organization the WHF needs to be held accountable for its responsibilities as such. Sure I could bail on the organization and join- up with another, but what kind of person would THAT organization get? Someone who, the first time things got tough they bail to yet another organization? No, Dave. My belief is that if the organization works I support it, and if its broke I help fix it. If GM Myung gets fed up with me he can always toss my a$$ out as he did before, but, then, that will be HIS loss--- not mine. My school is hosting a winter goodwill torunament to benefit a local youth shelter. We have ten events scheduled, ranging from non contact sparring to San Shou and submission grappling. The problem is, I'm not sure how to do the actual formatting of the tournament. Let's say we have eleven people competing in any given division. Who does the odd person fight? How to determine who fights who in the next round? Ack! Alos, What's some criteria for giving judges to judge open style forms on? Any help is most appreciated! Thanks! I am no expert on any of this. I can say that I enjoyed the movie and can suspend reality for the time I view a movie enough that I can enjoy and live the movie while watching it. It was a good movie. It was good enough that I may go see it again (a rarity) or at least rent the video when it comes out. When some speaks on the movie quality, accuracy, authenticity and has not see the movie, the phrase that comes to mind is "He speaks words that no one hears". Best regards.
