What would you have done? Do what you must if (God forbid) you are ever in a similar situation but just understand this, you will be totally at the mercy of the criminals if you pass up your one viable options of escape. <> Jye, welcome back and with a good makes you think post. Here in Georgia, it is legal to have a loaded Glock .40 on the front seat in plain view, so open the door as if getting out to comply and then double tapping the center of mass (so as not to damage my windshield) would be my first choice if I owned a gun :-). Since I don't own a gun, I would have moved to option B like your student...better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.... FWIW, a while back I posted about WTF type judges not scorring hand strikes. My mentor (GM Hodder) gave me an answer that applies to all of life, and all my training, not just WTF style fighting. "Never leave the decision in the judges (someone elses) hands." Yours in Jung Do, Charles Richards www.mojakwan.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo! Wishing you all and your families and loved ones a happy and safe season, and a prosperous 2004! Here are a couple thoughts for the season - Alain "Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful." Norman Vincent Peale "Somehow, not only for Christmas, But all the long year through, The joy that you give to others, Is the joy that comes back to you. And the more you spend in blessing, The poor and lonely and sad, The more of your heart's possessing, Returns to you glad." John Greenleaf Whittier "Time was with most of us, when Christmas Day, encircling all our limited world like a magic ring, left nothing out for us to miss or seek; bound together all our home enjoyments, affections, and hopes; grouped everything and everyone round the Christmas fire, and make the little picture shining in our bright young eyes, complete." Charles Dickens "Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas." I am one of the stereotypes (sort of). I am a fifty-three year-old grandmother who practises the martial arts. There are two things that make me very angry: 1) The assumption that just because I am an older woman, I somehow need to be treated more gently in the dojang than my twenty-three year-old male counterparts. 2) But what makes me angriest are the Mary Sues out there that give people the legitimate right to assume so. Yes, I have met them (even in my dojang) and, since they were senior to me, I had to show them respect for the sake of the dojang. For some reason, the Billy Bobs and Miltons are so much easier for me to tolerate . May all the DDers have a safe and peaceful season! At this time of year, most of all I appreciate my friends and family, thinking of everyone who over the past year who has given my family and I great joy with your friendship and fellowship. Keep Christ in your heart, not only in this Christmas season but for everyday. I don't talk about Christ with many people openly because for me spirituality is a very private part of my life. My wish and hope for each one of my friends and family find the same peace that I have found in my personal relationship with Christ. Christmas is a time of reflection and rememberance for me, of all the joyfull gifts and blessings that I have been given. I hope you are renewed this Christmas season with the same thoughts. Your friend, Kevin Luttrell Springfield, Mo
