While traveling through Australia two weeks ago...I had the opportunity to stop in Sydney for a day and meet with GM Booth...Needless to say it was a great experience...He was very accommodating and took two hours out of his day to talk with me and my companion as well as treat me to a couple of hands on demonstrations...I also had the opportunity to observe one of his classes...If you happen to be in Sydney Australia at any point in time...I strongly recommend you stop by Master Booth's and at least have a talk with him...be better if you take your Dobok and participate...I would have participated, but one of us forgot their uniform... To Sum it all up...I was overly impressed and ready to take up residence in Sydney to start training...but then again, one of us forgot their uniform... Pil Seung! Is he continuing to circle the wagons? What's been his official response on all of this? I understand that he and his supporters used to air it out over at the Budo-Seek forums. Are they still there pleading their case? Is he still talking trash on his "radio show"? If it were me, I imagine I would have been shamed into silence by now. Anyway, what's the news (spin) out of Florida on all of this? In regards to his supporters...I understand that Mr. Clay, and Dr. Covington's group of associates have parted ways with the esteemed Grande Master. Has anyone else of note abandoned ship? Who remains in the inner circle of die hard supporters? The other day I thumbed through a copy of TKDTimes magazine (I rarely read it, BTW), and noticed that he and his wife pen a column in that beacon of journalistic integrity. I'm wondering if the good folks over there at TKDT's are taking note of all of this. It will be interesting to see if they clean house, or continue to entertain submissions from the lovely folks in Florida. Thoughts, comments, inside information? I'm sorry, but this whole sorry mess is like a train wreck to me...I know I shouldn't stare but I can't help it. Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net An Acquaintance of mine has invited me to join the World Kido Federation, he made it sound like a great honor to be asked. I just don't know much about them. they want copies of all my rank certificates, my martial arts history and background information on all my instructors and a video tape of me performing all my techniques, and of course cash. then they will issue me a certificate from them in my current rank. I already have a cert on the wall from my association, from the U.S. is a Korean certificate better? why? Now why would I need to join the World Kido Fed.? what could they do for me? I really don't need to paper my walls with certs, from people I never met. just wondering what the big deal is bernard --__--__-- Message: 4 From: Ray Terry To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net (The_Dojang) Date: Wed, 21 Jan 2004 15:14:38 -0800 (PST) Subject: [The_Dojang] Introductory reading on Confucianism (fwd) Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Forwarding...
