However, I've been very busy but every once in a while I've had the opportunity to read what's happening in the martial arts world most importantly with Hapkido. First, I wish I was in Atlanta with Master James Allison. He's hosting GM Ji for a seminar and I'm sure they're all having a ball right now. I was planning on attending but a new job change prevented that. Master Allison is a great man and an excellent Hapkido player. Second, I want to wish GM West my best with his upcoming seminar. He has a great line up of martial artist attending and teaching. Third, I want to congratulate Master Whalen on his long awaited recognition from the KHF. There appears there's a lot to do with this situation but at least they are finally taking some action. Finally, I am hosting GM Ji for a two day seminar in South Windsor, Connecticut on May 22 and 23. All are welcome. This will be his third visit to Connecticut and it's sure to be worth it. Each year he covers new material. He will be covering knife, cane, counter hapkido techniques and dan bong. If your interested in the seminar, visit my site at www.hapkidojang.com to get more details and register. Space is limited. As the list of registrants grows, I will share some of the names. In the past Grandmaster Ian Cyrus, Master Scott Yates, Master James Allison, Master Whalen, Master Todd Deininger, Chirs Lacava, and Master Mike D'Aloia along with countless others have attended. We'll see who shows up this year. Question: I've heard about the new World KiDo Federation, and I'm sure the name was chosen to reflect some use of 'ki' as an internal source of energy (perhaps similar to the Japanese aikido?), but doesn't the word 'kido' in Korean mean 'prayer'? Personally, I could get into "The Way of Prayer". But I don't think this was the intent when the name was chosen. Any native Korean speakers able to comment? Thank you! -Ann ************************************************* Jacob's Well Christian Books and Gifts 46035 Signature Lane, Lex.
