Next if he got you Kuk Ki Won certification don't just throw them away because they are not just pieces of paper typed up by one master who wants to keep all the money to himself. Many of these organizations are run by a single master and when that person dies, gets old or just plain fedup and quits you can't get certificates for you or your students, if you have a falling out with him you have no recourse but to leave. At least with WTF if you have a falling out with one master you can go to another and not miss a beat. The KKW certificate is recognized by The Korean Government, The IOC and they are excepted by nearly every governments in the world as the official martial arts credentials. Know matter what wrongs happens in Korea they wrongs will be righted, a new president will be elected and we will move on. All orgs have growing pains it is time for the new generation to take over the reigns, old leaders who have done great things in the past are like punch drink boxing champions who don't know when to quit, the WTF is no exception. Fight for your org when you were a student remember what it offered and how proud you were when you got your 1st Dan. Now you are an instructor don't run when times get tough, build your school, give your students confidence you got from your instructor, get involved with local events you will meet WTF masters you get along they will help you. Gm Pan Gon Song is a WTF Chung do kwan/ Korea Hapkido Federation who has made up his own system think about it. Good Luck Master M ----- Original Message ----- From: "luke rose" To: Sent: Saturday, February 07, 2004 7:17 PM Subject: [The_Dojang] an old master > Hello all, > > I'm in the process of changing my dan certification to a more respectable and still accessible organization. My current certificate is through the W.T.F. I think we all know what has been happening with them over the past few years and especially lately. Also, I found out a lot of the certificates that were handed out in U.S.A. are false ones given by dishonorable people. I'm looking at getting rank by a newly founded organization called SImMuDo. The founder and president is Grandmaster Pan Gon Song. After I go through his organization and if he finds me to be a quality person and martial artist he can also get me certification in other long existing kwans. His web-site is www.simmudo.com . I'm looking for input this organization and what other kwans would be good to go with. > > One other thing. My old instructor was a man called Craig Balliete. He has a company called Triad Enterprises, Inc. He sold me my present school and we are no longer in contact. I felt he wasn't holding up his end of the bargain and was out primarily for the money. It was a bad split and I know he is still in contact with a former student of mine who has opened up his own school in town. I wouldn't be surprised if he still hates my guts like he did before. I never hated the man only his beliefs and actions. Besides it was a business transaction. I feel he is like a Richard Hackworth (only he is in shape) and I would like to know what I'm up against if that is the case. I saw only the exterior of the man and found out later after he moved that his intentions were not what I wanted and I immediately got out of the relationship. If anyone has any information on him, good or bad, please let me know. He should be about 6th or 7th dan in the W.T.F. and the same in the Chung Do Kwan. > > Luke > > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > New Yahoo! Anyone disagree?" Jye, I'll stir the pot. Let's say I teach my 16- colorbelts escrima/kahli, but never advance them to the knife and machette. I'd say that person with 8-10 years of escrima training could defend against a machette because they understand the weapon and the basic motions in weilding the weapon. Even though technically they have never trained with the machette. Jump in Ray? Yours in Jung Do, Charles Richards www.mojakwan.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Five of us drove to Mr. Longton's school about an hour south of Crestview to workout. Considering we are taekwondo stylist, I was a little concerned about taking two brand new yellow belts (promoted Friday night) to a seminar that may do throws. Master West and his team were very gracious and extended open arms. We had a great time visiting and looking forward to seeing everyone Jackson. I posted a few pictures (out of 100) at http://www.gordonmartialarts.com/picture020704-hapkido.html Best regards, Thomas Gordon Florida --__--__-- Message: 7 Date: Sun, 8 Feb 2004 07:39:35 -0600 (CST) From: To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] =?iso-8859-1?Q?Re:_Oh_YEAH=3F=3F=3F_?= Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Dear Ray: "......Sim Mu Do may be a fine group and SONG Pan-gon may be a fine master, but remember that he was at one time in bed with Hackworth as the Korean head of the KMAIA group. The reason I am asking is that I was involved in a discussion on E-BUDO not so very long ago in which one of the contributors cited sources concerning the Tokyo Metropolitan Police who still carry a cord in their breast pocket. I had originally thought that this was simply a nod to past traditions but the contributor went on to mention that the cadets learn some 12 restraining techniques utilizing this cord. Since the Japanese were instrumental in designing the curriculum for the Korean Police Academy following their take-over of Korean security in 1907 maybe they compelled the Koreans to learn more than just their sword techniques at the Academy, ya kwow? In a similar fashion, perhaps they likewise taught jitte or nightstick material which would be one more source of the current dan bong techniques, yes? I had been in communication with a fella who purportedly had a training manual from this time (or maybe just someones' notebook?), but after a while the communication broke off when I started asking more detailed questions about the contents. Any help would be appreciated.
