Great post. I wrote some very similar things in a guest editorial I sent to Black Belt this week. (Mike, your tell it as you see it is one reason we get along so well...) :-) This too rings of what I wrote in the guest editorial. It is the training, the relationships, and who you become as a martial artist that are important. Everyone go watch the Karate Kid movies, all four of them, and then watch them again. Go ahead and fast forward through the martial art scenes, the romances, etc. Do watch every time Mr. Miyagi speaks. Watch his behavior, and listen to his wisdom. And look how the relationship and respect is formed between him and his students... That is something we can all learn from. Climbing off his soapbox... Just needed a break from the office for a moment this morning, but now back to work. Don't hold back! We're all friends here. Tell us how you REALLY feel! First, you obviously are not aware of the driving force behind KOMA-USA. Nor are you aware of the fact that we are making no warranties, we are simply going on with our practice. I have been invited to, and accepted an invitation to attend some of Master Ji's events. These are to take place in Florida I believe; however, my attendance at any event will not occur this year due to a rather rough pregnancy. With any luck my daughter will be born in short order, or a C-section will ensue. Mr. Tomlinson in order to present oneself as a professional, one needs to conduct oneself in such a manner. Insinuations, and condescension are not appropriate tools for intelligent conversation. Also, I do need to correct you, I have never belittled Hwang Duk Kyu. I have never met this man, nor have I had any contact with him. My only "negative" comment about him was the revival of the name KHA and how I felt that it lended itself to a misunderstanding of the fact that THE KHA is now the KHF. I am not responsible for anything that Mr. Hackworth may have said or done. Now beyond masked vulgarities, I would like to point out that KOMA-USA is not any method by which any of us are trying to be top-dog. It is a response to what we see as deficiencies in the current organizations. I believe I explained this once already, and already received disparaging comments from you in this regard. I believe it is common knowledge that you do not agree with us, and that is your prerogative. I do ask, however, that you, and other readers, extend to us the same respect that we are extending to you.
