Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Mr. Luttrell, That was well put. I must say mostly I've been a lurker here for the 3 years or so I've been a member, but I have to say I agree with you. I am relatively new to hapkido (7 years a student), and I am beginning to see how the MA's open up for you when you teach them to someone else. I never really learned a technique until I tried to teach it to someone else. It was a fantastic time filled with good training, good people and good food. I want to thank Mike McCarty for being a great host yet again this year. It was great putting faces with the names of other Hapkidoin I have only talked to in the past. Mike Tomlinson, it was great finally throwin' down with you Bro and thanks to Javier for the extra help on the mat. Looking forward to next year. This one is at my friend Fabian Duque's Dojang in Ocala and will be a four day event at the end of June with Master Holcome Thomas, and Master Harold Whalen teaching... This four day event is only 100 dollars!! What a great bargain for your Hapkido buck... I will definately be there so I invite everyone on this list to come on down to Florida where the weather is hot and the Hapkido is Good.....Ocala is a good town and you'll love it. We will have a good time sweating, laughing, doing Hapkido and NOT acting like we are the heads or leaders of anything!!! I love to train in Hapkido and if you get on the mat and love Hapkido also then you are my brother and I will treat you as such. So come on down to my neck of the woods and let's train in Hapkido.... Have been out since returning from a trip to WI on May 2nd but I have been back at the school for a couple of days and will continue on my regular schedule on Tuesday.....Couple of thoughts... First: Congratulations to Rudy on his promotion, and I have to ask, did you get you red cape and boots yet? If it wasn't for Master Hodder I would have never received them, even if they were a little on the small side. Second: Speaking of Master Hodder, I will be at his school with a van load of Hapkido mutants on the 12th of June. I look forward to seeing all my TX friends, speaking of mutants. Third: Mara and I will be heading to Europe on the 24th of June and I have been told I will be teaching a couple of seminars while there, but I'm not sure where or when yet. I will be back on July 7th and Mara will return on August 2nd after spending some time near Salzburg, Austria with some family friends. I told her that while in Amsterdam I was going to try to find her a sister. Fourth: I have been watching the KHF website and notice that everyone's favorite guy from FL has seemingly resurfaced...How exciting!....How revolting! Last: Happy Memorial Day to all my veteran brothers, and to everyone else, enjoy the holiday but remember why we celebrate J. R.
