If you are, you may want to watch out for your continued well being in the martial arts. They are known, in Texas, to just up and run (Midnight move), and leave their student without a place to train and still wanting to get paid. This is a part of the public record if you wish to investigate. Rich --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "Lasich, Mark D." If you use the Promotion Code: TheDojangDigest during signup, you will save $5.00 on the normal $15.00 set-up fee! Use the following link to get there: http://www.infoquest.com/default.asp?aid=478 Infoquest's SuperAccount goes for $19.95/month for more than enough space (300MB), data transfer (15GB), Email accounts, site creation tools, statistics, etc. I have been using them for a number of years with a lot of luck, good speed, and no down time that I know of (the "Bookstore" site is running there [www.pasource.com/dojang]). If you have any questions, please let me know. In the spirit, Mark Neal Konecky wrote: >I have been assigned the task of creating a website. I am starting from square one. I've heard several times over the years a saying that went something like this: "You can bet your enemy is training every bit as hard and as long as you." I found this to be true while observing KPA soldiers outside of Pan Mun Jom throwing some pretty vicious roundhouse kicks on a nearby oak tree........with NO boots on.. I too am not a morning person. But under circumstances like being in Korea whether being in the military or not like Anthony, you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm sure those KPA soldiers were fine with getting up at O-dark thirty, nibble on a fish head and rice for breakfast, and begin their daily workout routines. He is the brother of Jung Soo Park of the Miami, Florida area. Master Jung Sool Park had a school in the Lake Worth, Florida area when I lived there during the summer of 1989. Just wondering if he was still around or not, still teaching or not, etc. He was a great instructor in my opinion. I have the translation by Victor Harris and have never been happy with it. At first glance it seems well annotated----- until one starts actually relating the annotations to the text. Some of what I suppose are Japanese idioms are helpfully explained but did I really need the author to define for me what a "practice bamboo sword" was? There was also considerable introductory material for setting the context of Miyamoto Musashis' writing but the introductory material was on that fine line between too much to be considered minimal and not enough to be maximal. I think a true scholar would have hoped that Harris might have opted for doing either one OR the other. As it is he seems to have had too much detail in places and not enough in others. I'd like to give Cleary a look. Do you have an ISBN? Harris is 0-87951-018-8 (Overlook Press; 1974). I have like wise seen GM Myung "play the crowd" by getting a sense for a particular groups level of ability and spirit. I have also seen him get caught up in a group which has a particularly fine spirit and there is a great amount of fine things that might not otherwise come out had the crowd not been so invested. Your words give me a lot to think about.
