Can you also speak to the nature of employment in Korea? By this I mean that I have heard very mixed reviews on Korean agencies and companies as employers. These reviews seem to run the gamut from "warm and wonderful" to horror stories. From what I can gather, most issues seem to revolve around how things are resolved when issues come up. There seems to be some special concerns where language schools are involved. Have you had (or do you know anyone) who has run into problems and had to get things sorted out? Was it successful for everyone involved? Any info or comments would be appreciated. While people do work without obtaining a work visa, if you get caught you will pay for it, so I don't recommend it. If you are from the U.S. and get a tourist visa, get a multiple that allows you to go in and out of Korea multiple times in a five year period. (each time you go in you get 90 days) Then you only have to pay for a visa every five years if you plan to continue visiting Korea. If I remember correctly, and maybe Anthony knows off hand, I believe you will need to show your four year college degree in order to get the work visa. I know I did. If you don't have a four year degree from a university, you probably will not be able to get a work visa in Korea. If this has changed, Anthony please let me know. I've worked on some US immigration things here in the law office, but have not looked into Korea for a while.
