It is a lot to get used to again, but I'm enjoying the challenge so far :) --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "Jon Payne" To: Date: Thu, 24 Jun 2004 23:29:06 -0500 Subject: [The_Dojang] Re:(2) korean form Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net We called it Sorim Kwon Bup in Tukong Moosul. It means Shaolin Kenpo I believe. It's been a while. It is a long form and we were taught the form in about five stages I believe. It's a very beautiful form, as a kid I used it to win 2nd place in forms competion. Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net a little off topic, but while we are discussing the merits of grappliing/groundwork, and everyone likes reading about these sorts of stories anyway, here's one from my hometown of manchester in the uk: http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/news/s/120/120755_samurai_sword_thug_stopped_by_judo_ace.html I suspect being 17 stone and in the British squad also helped! _________________________________________________________________ Use MSN Messenger to send music and pics to your friends http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger --__--__-- Message: 5 Date: Fri, 25 Jun 2004 07:48:23 -0500 (CDT) From: To: Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: So Rim Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Dear Daryl: ".....In reference to So Rim Hyung, I suggest Master Kang Rhee as a contact....." I used to live near Jackson, MS. There are 2 malls, and a great shopping area off county line road. When I attend and teach seminars, etc., my wife normally takes the opportunity to shop and explore. Even if she is not "into" hapkido, she may enjoy the time, or the "martial arts road trips" as my wife refers to them. One day, Hapkido may get "in her", then be on the look out. Women seem to pursue this thing we call hapkido with far more passion. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! Her signifcant other asked what there was for them to do in Jackson. I suggested they check out the web-site for Jackson MS, I have been to Jackson a few times, but have only seen the carpet. So, you may want to have your wife check out the link below to see if there is something she would like to do while we are looking at carpet in the holiday inn. http://www.city.jackson.ms.us/Visitors/default.htm Hope this helps, Kat --__--__-- Message: 10 Date: Fri, 25 Jun 2004 12:56:52 -0500 From: Edward To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] I saw a 40 Carat diamond in Jackson Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hello All. I have only been to Jackson the one time, this last March. We arrived a day early. That Friday before everything started my friend and I went to see the Dresden Exhibition. I was one of the most interesting exhibits I have seen in a while. So one thing to do would be to check out the Art museum.
