I have been going to GM West's seminars for about 10 years now and the weather has always been wonderful, the places to eat superb, and the company, including folks from out of town, for the most part, exceptional. I have spent a large part of my personal time going to Mississippi to train with Master West and his most dedicated students, not because it was a popular place to visit, simply because it is an extraordinary experience. One, that I think, serious martial artists, need to explore. I can not endorse another seminar more highly than Master West's. It is a great learning experience for all from white belt to gazillionth dan. If you want further confimation of this, ask your own Master, SaJaNim Rudy Timmerman. have fun, Rich --__--__-- Message: 2 From: Klaas Barends Date: Sat, 7 Aug 2004 10:29:49 +0900 To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: On sheep Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net I think one thing is left out.....the shepherd The hurd also needs a good shepherd. Someone who feels responsible for the hurd, wants the best for the hurd and the sheepdog, and probably even for the wolves (natural enviorment). The shepherd should not offend other shepherds, take away their sheep or their food etc. etc. and hereby angering the other shepherds and so bring danger to his own hurd. To keep the hurd organized you need sheepdogs. To keep the sheepdogs organized you need a shepherd who knows his responsebility, not only for his own hurd but for everything around it as well. -- kind regards, Klaas Barends http://www.hapkido.nl/ --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Fri, 6 Aug 2004 21:47:59 -0400 (EDT) From: Lois Knorr To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] On Sheep.... by Grossman (fwd) Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net "We may well be in the most violent times in history” At this time in history more women and children in the world are considered “human” than at any other time. When violence against over two thirds of humanity was ignored because they were possessions, then were indeed violent times. I thank God that, as a woman, I live in the times and land of freedom – for now at least, I am a human being and my life is as meaningful as that of my husband.
