Any help > would be appreciated....thanks! Hi Jeffrey, I also live in the Cleveland area (Strongsville) and I've been looking for a Hapkido Dojang for several years. I am curious, where do you currently train? The only places I know of are: Great Lakes Institute of Hapkido in Bay Village Kim's College of Martial arts in Brunswick & Medina (Although I think it might just be TKD with joint locks) Same with Kim's in Fairview There is also a Chiropractic office that says "Hapkido Self Defense". But when I called there the guy seemed to act like he didn't want any students. Good luck and please keep us up to date on what you find. Thanks, ===== Kevin Hostelley --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Wed, 25 Aug 2004 09:16:38 -0500 From: "Woodard Brian (ChW/TEF8)" To: Subject: [The_Dojang] SC Instructor Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hello all; I have posted in the past about Hapkido instructors/schools in the Charleston, SC area. There is a school that advertises judo, aikido, jujitsu, & Isshinryu karate. They list an instructor who is a 5D in Hapkido. His name is Mr. Tim Haney. Do any of you all HKD players no him, or what organization he is ranked with? The website for the school he is with does not mention what org. Mr. Haney is with. Below is a link to a webpage with his photo. I was surprised to see a school with an instructor at 5D in Hapkido and not teaching this art. There is absolutely NOBODY that teaches Hapkido in Charleston, SC. I've looked and I REALLY want to study this art. I have not approached this school or instructor yet. Primarily because I am not interested in any of the arts they advertise. But I was pleasantly surprised to see a 5D HKD in Charleston. I was beginning to think there were none. Please feel free to email me off the digest if you wish. http://www.chas-ma.com/haney.htm Thanks, Brian Woodard --__--__-- Message: 4 From: "rich hodder" To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Fri, 27 Aug 2004 01:24:05 +0000 Subject: [The_Dojang] USKMAF Seminar Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Well, I'm off to Master West's semi-annual soire and mutant fest, I hope to see all'ya'll there (a very southern saying that means most of you) (at least as far as I can tell). I will definitely attend any NKMAA events that I am able to in the future. Also, it was great that you took time to work with attendees individually as well. Thanks also to Kevin and Debbie Janisse for organizing this event, and to the other attendees I got a chance to meet and work with. I look forward to speaking with you again soon. Have noticed several good schools in the San Antonio area. Now that I am actually here, it would be nice to have any additional inputs. Austin is a little too far to travel for lessons, but the music scene is great there. Interested in any good Hapkido, Escrima/Arnis, Krav Magna, Karate/Muay Thai, Jeet Kun Do schools. Master JR West has known him since their Vietnam days and can tell you anything you want to know about him...
