What is "waveform"? Is that like ITF TKD's "sine wave" theory? What about "colour projection"? What does that mean? Feng shui...I thought that was a Chinese health theory that involved how to arrange the furniture in your home. How does that relate to martial arts? Thanks for the reply!!! Training in the physical skills is secondary to training in threat recognition." exellent point, not only for knife attacks but for any type of attack. "Recently at a tournament I saw some very flashy 'demo' type knife defense moves that I would severely beat my students if I saw them doing them. I'm still shocked to see that type of garbage proliferated as valid knife defense.it is gonna get someone killed because they think they can actually do the moves in real life. The PMAs have some excellent moves as do some of the JJ/HKD arts..." would you mind sharing some of these? i think that would be a good service to the readers. imo, there's one entire body of knife defenses that fall into the "bad" category right away: those involving kicking the knife-wielding hand. your point about bad defenses just reinforces my belief that there are a fair number of m.a. students who have a dangerously unrealistic idea of how serious a knife attack is, and of how good their defenses will be against it. regards, howard --__--__-- Message: 4 From: "Gladewater SooBahkDo" To: Date: Wed, 20 Oct 2004 17:36:55 -0500 Subject: [The_Dojang] Claims Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Master Terry; I am not familiar with the man in Florida that you say is making false claims about some being part of his organization, but seeing your post reminds me of the discussion a month or so ago about those that claim to be connected to the Moo Duk Kwan. It looks like the US SBDMDK is not the only ones that are in need of legal action against. Why can't people just stand on their own merits, and not try and gain recognition by riding someone else's coat tails. Hopefully that is something we can all agree on. Bad bad bad idea in 99.9% of the cases.
