You have to offer more than the physical side of martial arts. Kicking, punching, and joint manipulation are worth 50-60 bucks a month but if you include life skills and truely improve people's lives then that is priceless. Some will argue that with quantity and money comes mediocrity... I beg to differ, not that I have much money or a huge school... But if anyone knows Master Diego Perez in Miami, you will know what I'm talking about. He has over 900 active students, he gets a good monthly rate, and his students are awesome! Of course he is way beyond the average instructor... My eventual goal is to teach martial arts professionally and to be paid very well for doing so. I would hate to think that since it's the the cheapest, I'm the worst instructor in town. I believe my students, their parents and also my bosses would beg to differ. The price has nothing to do with the quality of training, especially in the arts. My 2 sense! Let me K> know if you have any other questions please. After looking, I can't see any photos of the swords. Looking at the properties for the images, I see something like "file:///G|/!RRTKD%20web/sword3.jpg", when I might expect something more like "http://www.rrtkd.com/images/sword3.jpg" (though I don't see the pictures there) Also, you might want to put an "index.html" page that redirects people from your /images/ directory back to the main page. Hopefully this helps. Martial arts is not like buying a sports car. You can't just show up, write a check, and own it. There's a lot of sacrifice that goes into it...physical effort, mental effort, injuries, time spent away from other activities, etc. I've known plenty of dojang slackers who paid hefty dues each month, but didn't work very hard and didn't get much accomplished. I'd say they didn't value their training very much regardless of what amount of money they plopped down for it. On the other hand, the people I train with don't pay a red cent, but I see people having fun, getting in shape, learning skills, and developing a great foundation. If people are really interested in learning martial arts and training, then they will value the experience and make something of it totally independent of the fact that there is money involved. In the end, there's room for everybody...the large commercial clubs, the not-for-profit clubs, and everything else in between. What I CAN say with certainty is that quality doesn't always follow the money trail. For what it's worth... This boils the whole soup down for me. Well put. Might I also add that as I begin to approach the martial arts from an instructor's point of view I realize now how little I know. Trying to teach a technique to someone else teaches me how to learn how to do the technique, and makes me make it work....does that make any sense?!? Anyhow, very nicely worded sir. Sounds stupid, but how many satallite schools can number enrollment in the hundreds even with other federations trying for a percentage of the students and just not getting them. I still haven't figured it out.
