Bravo Kip I like your succinct and honest take on > Hapkido.... Michael, like you and Kip, I too believe in doing MY small part of making things the best I can. One can get so wrapped up in paperwork that mat time becomes difficult to find. I believe that is why the Jackson event is so popular and more and more people are coming to Canada to train. People can work together without having to "adhere" to anyones idea of what is right. The only right thing is to get on the mat and sweat with your fellow Hapkidoin, share techniques, and eat whatever food is served in that part of the world. I must admit that I truly enjoyed the Aussie hospitality of Benard Mcginnity (sp), although I was not too fussy on eating the Emu lol. Likewise, I enjoy the cameraderie and southern food at JRs event. Thank you for your follow comments regarding our past KSB test at the NKMAA headquarters. Although the past year training has been a bit tough and as you know, there is an enormous amount of Hap Ki Do information to mentally digest, I never once had the thoughts of "quit, can't or won't." With the Chung Do Kwan and weapons training we do at our dojang here in Brainerd, our black belt ranked students, especially Mr. Dahl, Mr. Mertes and Dr. Taylor, never let PSN Keppers and me slack off with the Kong Shin Bup (tm) training, not even once. With great students like these, we absolutely had no excuses to not be promoted. After so many years in the Korean martial arts and observing the never ending verbal and political battles going on within this martial art, it was really a great experience to be in attendance with highly skills martial artists who welcomed each other, accepted each other, shared with and In their skills and most important of all to me, they were honestly extremely humble in all that they did. This is the Association (NKMAA) which I want my students to be involved in. I want them to travel to the Sault and workout, visit and really see honest, hard working individuals who endlessly elicit verbal encouragements to everyone I thank you and your wife for making this association an extremely positive experience for all who come through Grandmaster Timmerman's door. I am thankful to still have the abilities to to teach, share, learn, and continue to grow in the martial arts. I am equally thankful to all to those who have taken the time and effort to help me along the way. May God Bless you all.
