All too often 1, 2 or 3 steps are done with the incoming punch/kick ending 6" to 9" from the target. All we're teaching that way is to block something that doesn't need to be blocked. You may be correct Ray, off the top of my head it was that he had a 2nd dan in Shotokan - not that he was under Funakoshi. I have been absent for quite a few months but am back again...Moved from Indiana to Florida in between the 3 Hurricanes...but am settled now... I also have a web-site...not quite a week old and still under construction..
