If you have ever been on the mat with him you will always remember two things: the Cheshire Cat grin and the way your arm feels after a technique (OUCH), all with the grace of Tiger. It's about time something went right for you this year...I would also like to send out Cong-Rats to Master Instructor James Morgan on his 4th Dan. He puts in incredible amounts of time with his students on and off the mat and he is the very essence of a true martial artist. Special Cong-Rats to Master Instructor Chris Rock and to Instructor Shawn O'Neill on their promotions to 4th and 3rd Dan respectively. They unfortunately were not able to attend the Jackson Throw-Down, but for the most fantastic of reasons, they were on their way to pick up their newly adopted son, Connor. Their fine students picked up their certificates for them and did them proud while they were there. To Shawn, Chris and Connor (members of this list, well Connor will be) I wish you all the happiness this world has to give and more. have fun, Rich --__--__-- Message: 2 Date: Wed, 16 Mar 2005 13:11:46 -0800 (PST) From: richard kolyer To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: [The_Dojang] one strike knckout video Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net DDers, Just thought some of you'd be interested in this local news video. Note the misdirection (w/right hand) the defender uses before tagging the attacker w/the left. follow this link: If the link is inactive or broken email me privately and I'll send you the wmv file. (My apologies if this has already been submitted; I'm still going through my huge backlog of DD email). Sool, -richard __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Best combination IMHO of art, style and application is Kyokushin karate. Just terrific...but very dangerous. I would be remiss, if I did not thank Master West and the mutants for an absolutely wonderful weekend of training and eating. I and the entire contingent from Houston (Seabrook) had a wonderful time and the folks that didn't come with us will certainly want to next time. It is always like returning home when I come to Jackson, a feeling I can not express well in type. Thank you Sir. your friend, Rich --__--__-- Message: 5 From: Ray Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] one strike knckout video To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Wed, 16 Mar 2005 18:02:00 -0800 (PST) Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net > follow this link: > I think that occurred a few years ago. I seem to recall seeing it on TV. A perfect example of a strike to the brachial plexus origin. Master Richards can tell you all about how it feels. :) Ray Terry rterry@idiom.com --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2005: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
