You and I both know that the MDK has several schools Tang Soo Do, Tae Kwon Do, and Soo Bahk Do. The US Soo Bahk Do is the only organization in the US that Grandmaster Hwang Kee recognized as his MDK. The other organizations were organization that developed as a result of instructors that had left the guidance of the founder. He always expressed respect for those instructors and organizations, but he did not continue to offer them dirrection. The ending result is a diverse group of organizations that resemble each other less and less as time goes on, but they all use the name Moo Duk Kwan. Tim's question will be hard to answer accuratly with out knowing where he fits in to the MDK picture. Because he mentions TKD MDK I can only assume based on my understanding of the history that the organization he is with has not been under the guidance of the founder of MDK for approx 40 years or more. My point is that the standards set by the Kukiwon may be close to the standards set by some branch schools or organization using the name Moo Duk Kwan. The Kukiwon standard and the standard set by the founder of Moo Duk Kwan (Hwang Kee Kwan Jang Nim) are not even simular. I simply expressed he should research it for himself. NOW, before everyone gets crazy with this, let me say, I am not trying to pretend that the US Soo Bahk Do organization is better than anyone. I am simply saying there are many schools, organizations, instructors, and gorverning bodies that are excellent. There are also those that claim to be but are not. IMHO the Kukiwon has many excellent instructors of TKD. It has many respectable schools. Also IMHO it has become to comercialized, and has poor leadership as the headquarters of TKD. Being one of Mr. Nguyen's attackers for his 2nd Dan test was truely an honor. What until you see the video where I catch a board in the face. Um, could you go into just a little more detail about "crash test dummy" sir? However the real issue was much larger than that expressed above. But the original question was how MDK, more specifically TKD MDK, differed from Kukki-TKD. I believe that question was well answered.
