I worked with a young Korean guy at college who was fresh out of the military. He showed up in shorts and his legs were covered with scars. When I asked him where he got them he explained that they sparred in combat boots wearing shorts and bare-chested. So I guess that would qualify as tough or insane depending upon your point of view.
