Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net As implausible as it might be, Wesley Snipes was the first actor that popped into my mind, really! His skill appears authentic and would be a much more appropriate choice than Keanu Reeves. Keanu does not move like a martial artist, despite the wires and CG enhancement of the Matrix movies. <> Thanks, Chris - Han Mu Do in BR --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "Bob Banham" To: Date: Mon, 15 Aug 2005 22:11:03 +0100 Subject: [The_Dojang] Gol Gul Sa Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hi Jye, My wife and I stayed at Gol Gul Sa in 2002. I thought it was great! It reminded me of the old times at my original instructor's dojang. What fun! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I was just wondering other people's thoughts on this. There seems to be disparate camps out there in regard to how forms are to be incorporated into the training. I've had an instructor who believed that the forms can and should be used as a conditioning modality. Literally, performing "x" number of forms until one was finished or you dropped from exhaustion. What's the general consensus on this? The reason I ask is because as you become greatly fatigued the form will start to suffer from a technical perspective...the kicks won't be as high...the blocks not as crisp...the stances not as strong...the strikes not as fast. I know many people seek to literally attain a "perfect form". That is, everything being just right from the cadence all the way to the technique. Of course, practicing a form in a highly fatigued state would tend to engrain technique that was much less than perfect. Personally, I have no problem working the forms into this kind of a circuit workout, or as a means to generate fatigue in order to illicit a certain training effect. But, what do other folks think? Nice idea, Gerard. I will probably try some of this. --__--__-- Message: 6 Date: Mon, 15 Aug 2005 17:02:45 -0500 From: Dave To: "the_dojang@martialartsresource.net" Subject: [The_Dojang] Black eye... Dave ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Instructors bail remains at $100,000 By Susan Nolan BRENTWOOD - Despite a plea for bail reduction Tuesday, a Superior Court judge upheld $100,000 cash or surety bail for a Newmarket man charged with sexual assault of minors. Rockingham County Superior Court Judge Tina Nadeau ruled that Keith Ingraham, 55, of 58 Schanda Drive, Newmarket, remain in Rockingham County Jail in lieu of the $100,000 bail. The former Newmarket Tae Kwon Do instructor is charged with felonious sexual assault on four Newmarket girls between the ages of 12 and 15. Ingraham was first arrested on May 28 and charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl and also with committing the offense of obscene matter, for allegedly photographing the girls genitals. He was then ordered held at the Rockingham County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or surety bail. That bail was increased by Exeter District Court Judge Laurence Cullen to $100,000 when more charges were brought against Ingraham on June 15. At that time, three more alleged victims were named. The new charges included three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, three counts of felonious sexual assault, one misdemeanor of sexual assault, and two misdemeanor charges for simple assault. Some of the charges date back to June 2003. Court records indicated that four of the alleged incidents occurred while Ingraham was two victims "teacher and employer, positions of authority, and (he) used such authority to coerce the victim to submit." Assistant Rockingham County Attorney Brad Bolton argued Tuesday that Ingraham posed a danger to society. He also argued that the defendant posed a flight risk. Ingrahams case is expected to go before a Rockingham County grand jury in September for indictment. Ingraham has not posted bail and remains at the county jail in Brentwood. For the past eight years, Ingraham and his family had leased space at the Newmarket Community Center where they ran the Newmarket Blackbelt Academy. In addition, the family ran an after-school program, and Ingraham has also taught Tae Kwon Do classes at Newmarket Junior/Senior High School. --__--__-- _______________________________________________ The_Dojang mailing list The_Dojang@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/the_dojang http://the-dojang.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/the_dojang Copyright 1994-2005: Ray Terry and http://MartialArtsResource.com Standard disclaimers apply.
