I wish I could go this year and finally meet Master Allison and his crew...BUT I have a little thing called knee surgery coming up next week and my wife has me on Hapkido lock down until it heals and rehabs.....all these years of athletics and finally the tread has worn thin on the ole meniscus....but I'll be back in the saddle before too long....Hapki!!! Try building a building without a strong foundation. It is also correct that you can not build a strong martial artist (inside yourself) with out a strong foundation. That foundation must be consistanly re-enforced. How you choose to build that foundation, and re-enforce it is your choice I choose to get my Moo Duk Kwan information from the source HC Hwang Kwan Jang Nim, and the World Moo Duk Kwan founded by Hwang Kee Kwan Jang Nim. Many former MDK people that have broken away from the founder, and HC Hwang Kwan Jang Nim are further away from the source. Science has proven that the more people that tell a story, the more it changes or gets deluted. This scientific fact is why branch organizations do NOT have as strong of a foundation as the original. I am not saying that being a member of the Moo Duk Kwan in some way makes you a better martail artist, or a better/stronger person. Just that being connected to the sourse gives you better information, and creates a stronger foundation no matter what art you study. His contention is that this is an American misnomer that you can buy someone and that the historical 30,000 foot in flight promotions etc have created a very negative appearrance in the martial arts community hence the "my papers are more real than yours"/ "my instructor is better than yours" my lineage is longer than yours" i can p-- further oops sorry etc etc etc. I got mine with some sweat some blood a lot of patience and time >> I have not been able to buy my "papers" from >> GM In Sun Seo or any one else, and I don't know anyone else that has. > > Just wondering. But not mathematically quantifying Ki does not mean one can use the functional aspects of Ki . An analogy I use to get this point across is comparing Ki to gravity. The mathematical expression of gravity was not defined until the time of Sir Isaac Newton but fifteen hundred or more years before Newton the Romans understood from a functional point of view that water flowed down hill. The expansion and dominance of the Roman empire was partly due to the system of aqueducts they built through out Europe and beyond. Much of Eastern Medicine and the concepts of Ki or Qi is similarly of a functional nature. The Chinese, Koreans and Japanese did not quantify their Medicine or the concept of Ki only utilized its functional applications as derived from observations.
