For joint mobility and range of motion I would suggest Pavel's 'Super Joints'. For muscular flexibility/splits stuff I would suggest his book 'Relax into Stretch'. His books are expensive but the information is priceless, IMO. --__--__-- Message: 3 From: "Kevin Janisse" To: Date: Fri, 30 Sep 2005 07:35:27 -0700 Subject: [The_Dojang] Re: SaJaNim Timmerman Seminar Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Hello Dusty SBN, I am glad your school enjoyed the seminar. Especially the painful techniques (oh the fun). It is always a good time with GM Timmerman. Lots of material and hidden aspects are shared. There is another seminar with GM Timmerman at the Ramada Inn at Montpelier, OH. It will be on Saturday, Oct. 22nd. For those who have never attended one of the NKMAA seminars, you will enjoy it and be treated with kindness and respect. For more information you can go to www.nkmaa.com Sincerely, Kevin Janisse --__--__-- Message: 4 To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net From: Rudy Timmerman Date: Fri, 30 Sep 2005 11:17:01 -0400 Subject: [The_Dojang] NKMAA seminars Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Dusty SBN writes: > I just wanted to publicly thank Sajanim Timmerman for coming down > to my > school just outside Toronto and working with my competition team. > they had a > hoot!!! it has been 4 days since he left and they are still talking > about it. Hello Dusty SBN: Thank you for the kind words, and it was a pleasure to work with such a nice group of young people. I can see why you chose them to represent your school... they are an awesome bunch of hard working little individuals. I was also totally blown away by the support these youngsters had from their parents. Most of them watched the entire day, and some fifty of the group showed up for dinner afterward. With that kind of parental support, your group will go a long way my friend. BTW, thank you for your dedication in traveling from one end of North-America to the other to train with me at the various seminars I put on this Summer. Hello Jye: Some people use race to dump on others, and some use anything from weight to intellect to do it. In my school, anyone who has that kind of attitude is history regardless of rank. Just got back from being over there last week. I don't recall a kid ever poking me like that. I have been in places in both Korea and Japan where kids would see me and yell out "hello" or "hi" and then giggle with their frinds. I've had Japanese kids go yelling Gaigin to their friends, etc. But it is all pretty harmless and it depends if you are in an area with a lot of foriegners or where they are less common. I'd have to ask my wife what ddong-chim means, I'm not sure right off hand. Hope this helps. But I have seen the younger kids running around playing with each other and poking each other all over, not just the butt. As you develop more strength in your muscles & joints you can move into isometric (tensing) stretches. This should help you get over the plateau you on. A good resource would be "Stretching Scietifically" through stadion.com Like anything you must be persistant but smart in your training. But I can say that during my several visits to Jackson for GM West's highly popular get-togethers that I have not witnessed it being exhibited.
