I remembered him being introduced as Hwang Sa Bom Nim. I looked up his name in my personal book of Moo Duk Kwan Dan Bons. His full name is Hwang, Jin Tae. In the History of the Moo Duk Kwan book (the little blue book) on page 28 you can see a picture of him standing behing Hwang Kee Kwan Jang Nim at the third Moo Duk Kwan promotion testing in Korea. How effective is this in a street fight. My Combat hapkido dojo offers to teach us some of the basics. I am wanting to learn, and in a few years I suspect I will be using one, so now is the time to learn, but is it really effective? Thanks! But consider... When/if you actually need to use and rely on a cane which techniques will be most useful to you? You will likely have neither good balance nor mobility, so focus on those techniques that you can do on only one leg. Think about it... Just my $0.02.
