Not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions? These will be my last seminars for 2005. I thought this might be a good chance to meet some of you DD'ers. Love to meet and share some of our "stuff" from Modern Farang Mu Sul®. We usually cover material from stand up, trapping, joint locks (lots of joint locks), grappling and weapons. Something like that. I am scheduled to do a seminar in Long Island, NY on Sat. November 5th. My students contact info is: Inst. Anthony Spataro (631-730-6155) email: AVSPATARO@YAHOO.com For the Puerto Rico seminar, that is scheduled for Sat. December 3rd. For more info contact: Master Dennis Vega (787-347-0485) email: denrama@yahoo.com So there, I know this is a plug, but I sincerely would love to meet and work with some of you gentlemen. Also, for those that enjoy NHB/MMA, we will have 5 of our Farang Mu Sul - Team Vale Tudo black belts, competing in the upcoming Ring Of Combat in Asbury Park, NJ on Sat. October 29th. One is for the Welter weight championship. It’s going to be a rockin’ good time. Are the records of the Dan Bon Book available, either online, or in print, or other? Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net I started as WTF in 1980. Many of my fellow instructors are from other governing bodies and Kwans. For now, we stand alone. We just got tired of the "ranking red tape", "exorbitant fees", "bogus tournament rules", and "empty promises" from the WTF, ITF, USTF, KHF, AAU add infinitum. -Sorry if I offend. Now, we train for the fun of it and the challenge to improve. Just like the joke: What did the fish say when it swam into a wall? Answer: "Dam." Well anyhow I looked at the video clips...and there was one technique you did were you should be ashamed of yourself...lol. on this clip: http://www.dsystem.com/images/vidclips/SeriesPreview02.mpg where you jump up and grab the opponent's head with your legs, and he lands on the top of his head....lol. Man if you ever do that in real life situation I'll lose all respect for you...you have to show SOME mercy on an attacker...lol. anyhow...nice clips. During his stay, he met Yong Sung Park, IOC member and President of the International Judo Federation (IJF); Young Joon Kang, President of the International Badminton Federation (IBF); and Chung Won Choue, President of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF). During a visit to the NOC headquarters, he met around 20 Olympic champions, as well as the NOC Executive Committee members and staff. He visited the NOC's Olympic Museum and met the NOC President, Jung-Kil Kim. The IOC President also met the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Dong-Chae Chung, and was granted an audience by the President of Korea, Moo-hyun Roh. --__--__-- Message: 9 From: Ray Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] Re: Hapkido To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Fri, 14 Oct 2005 18:13:21 -0700 (PDT) Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net > WOW, I ONLY GOT ONE RESPONSE! As a first dan, I studied Koryo, the Taeguk forms, and a form called Ship Soo, which I have been unable to find on the internet. Now, at 2nd dan, I have learned Keum Gang, and my current form is the sword form in question, called "Il Gum". Is that enough information to help? My next form is going to be a knife form, but I have no idea what its name is, then will be more well-known forms: Jin Tae, then Right Hand Staff form, Nahanchi Cho Dan, Bung Sul Il Jang, and, lastly, Bai Sai So. Thanks, Sheree Goldstein 2nd dan, instructor, WTF TKD --__--__-- Message: 12 Date: Fri, 14 Oct 2005 19:46:01 -0700 (PDT) From: Jae Stulock Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] Re: Hapkido To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Personally I like to learn a whole technique. It seems like you are just adding more steps to learning something if you start with too basic a concept. If I have a question on the mechanics of a technique I can break it down. I find it flows much easier (water principle). If a "whole technique" is stored in the muscle hard drive I find I feel more comfortable adding movement and softening technique sooner. ~Jae --- jakskru wrote: > WOW, I ONLY GOT ONE RESPONSE!
