Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net ".......Now I like for you to post a clip of a 93-year-old Korean man that can top this demonstration. Or better yet, post a 93-year-old TDK master demonstrating his art with flexibility, agility, and stable stances at this same martial level. Or better yet why not post your self demonstrating at the level of this old me in this clip.LOL...." I don't know from 93 y/o. What I do know is that foks who have grown comfortable from the position of spectators at Hapkido events would do well to model good practice for the younger set by getting out and exchanging technique with kids who are half your rank. I think if we could get this to be a standard rather than simply instruction by demonstration, the pressure for kids to leave their teachers and open their own styles and branches may diminish. I learned all that from Steve Mortel and Master Hal Whalen in the old KHA curriculum.. The gun disarming is exactly like the stuff we do only.....uh...don't take this the wrong way....the stuff on the video is a little slow and sloppy... Has anyone else noticed how much all the CQB, and "self defense" martial science arts look like REAL Hapkido?? when I see video's like these I thank God I ended up studying off of some really good old school Hapkido Masters....Hapki!!!
