I looked on the official ATA website, he was the ONLY one in "competition" for weapons in that division. http://www.ataonline.com/the_ring/standings/state%20champ/2002-2003/PA.h tm Do a "Control F" and put "MEN / 2ND & 3RD DEGREE / 30 - 39" in the search. Then look at weapons. http://www.ataonline.com/the_ring/standings/state%20champ/2002/pa.htm LOL! Same thing here. He was the only one for forms and sparring. In other words, he could walk out there, fall on his face or totally forget his form, and still win state champion. I didn't look at the other instructors standings/divisions. I'd seen enough. For the layman, all they see is "State Champion" and don't realize that ATA produces about 4000 "champions" every year. Some are very, very good. Others should be thankful they were in a solo division. ************ http://www.salineata.com/images/photos/classes/Dsc00550.jpg Tiny tigers class Hey, at least they were all white belts! We teach 4-6 year olds too but they have their own belt system and doesn't work out to our junior/adult belts. I've seen several ATA black belt that were 5-6 years old. My buddy said they had a 4 year old ATA black belt in their area. *************************** Thomas Gordon Florida -------------------------------------------- My mailbox is spam-free with ChoiceMail, the leader in personal and corporate anti-spam solutions. The more I implement the more success I continue to enjoy. As for it being unethical, I don't see where you can say that it is unethical. That’s like saying that guns are unethical because someone used one to commit a crime. It's not the tool but the fool that is to blame. If the system didn't work for you it didn't work for you. But don't assume that it doesn't work for others. And before you group all use honest hard working traditional martial artist into a group do some research. I earn a good income teaching Hapkido full time. I don't teach anything else just Hapkido. And if you talk to anyone that has trained with me or at my school you will hear that we have a top notch school. I owe my martial arts skills to my teachers over the years, Mr. Humphries, Mr. Guerrucci, Master Kim Hyueng Chang, Master Dave Weatherly, Master JR West and presently Do Ju Ji Han Jae. But as far as the financial success of my school I owe it all to Mr. Fred Mertens and MASS training. That’s my two cents and I am sticking to it.
