I enjoyed working with you as a partner in the self defense. You being a big guy certainly added an element of realism in it for me, probably less so for you. I appreciate the invitation to come down and train with you in Florida and I sincerely hope I will get the opportunity. Either way, I'm sure our paths will cross again. The new Kukki-TKD poomsae is set to be introduced at the same time it is announced that the ITF is folding into the WTF, i.e. RSN (real soon now). It doesn't seem to play (for me) outside the browser. Man why? Are they (WTF) going to still recognize the Tae Guks, Pal Gye? and whatever other Poomse they have incorporated over the years? I myself found the Tae Guk set very easy to learn compared with our (ITF) Tuls. I didnt like when we incorporated the sine wave in the 80's but I guess they know what they are doing.... besides I always wanted to meet "they and them" lol. Are the people like myself who dont use the Tae Guks in their system will probably have to learn the "new" set for promotion or are we going to be able to use the old forms?  "Good question" Thanx Master Maldonado --__--__-- Message: 8 From: Ray Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] RE: New Poomse To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Sat, 4 Feb 2006 13:17:39 -0800 (PST) Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net > Forgive my ignorance but New Poomse? The KTA used other forms, but I don't think the WTF has. ??? Is Hankido, Korean Aikido? Because if it isn't, it really is..." Hey, you may not realise but the dojunim of Hankido was for many years the Korean leading exponent, and the Korean official representative of, Aikido! Even last year on at least one of the Hankido websites this fact was still being trumpeted. That same web-site also pointed out that even from the beginning his Hapkido journey, that master's Hapkido was always far more similar to Aikido than Daedong Ryu Hapkiyusul. Are the new > poomsae documented > anywhere? > > Tom Kennelly Has it been confirmed that the WTF is jettisoning the Taeguek's? I read in "Taekwon-Do and Korean Martial Arts" a few months ago that there was a new 6-DVD series on the poomse that was designed to try to standardize performance and they focused on the Taegueks, as well as the WTF black belt patters. Interestingly, the Palgues were also standardized and included on DVD #6. I find it odd that the release of such a DVD series would be followed by the introduction of a new pattern set so quickly.
