One of basic principles is 'two deep leadership'. Or, read another way, NEVER be alone with any student, especially kids. BSA allows others to benefit from this training. I've included a link here for everyone's convenience. It probably takes about 45 minutes to go through the entire training, but I believe it is well worth it, as it covers physical, emotional and sexual abuse related issues. BSA requires registered leaders to take this every two years - I encourage everyone in Scouts to retake it every year: http://www.scouting.org/pubs/ypt/ypt.jsp In the spirit, Mark --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "A.E.S.M.H." Manuel Maldonado   With regards to Kukiwon the ITF and the WTF are holding talks which are being monitored and encouraged by the new President of the IOC. The purpose of these talks is to combine the two federations at the Olympic arena but the two federations will remain independent at the international arena. As you well know WTF just approved the use of their forms at the international competitions at the last world championships they had in Germany where as ITF have always been including the tuls as part of our world competition. Put in other words ITF world competitions is much more complex therefore WTF knows that they have a lot to learn from the ITF and ITF has something to learn from the WTF in regard to Olympic matter. At this stage we are fortunate we are fortunate to have a senior Olympic member as our President and he has been instrumental in assisting in the merging of ITF and WTF at the Olympic level. WTF and ITF will continue to hold their individual championships outside the Olympics.  If people from WTF ask you the main reason why this is taking place now what you can say is that the IOC at their last meeting in Malaysia was about to take a vote to take taekwon-do out of the Olympic since it was so monotone that the spectators did not show enough interest in what was being promoted as ‘taekwon’.  Lastly, I am very proud to tell you that last year I conducted the first international taekwon-do seminar in South Korea, for us as Americans this is a very big accomplishment. Last December Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha and Grand Master Park Jong Soo did a second trip to inaugurate their NGB.  The root of the rumor that you are hearing is that eh two governments, North and South Korea, are discussing the possibility of not only marching under one flag but participating in eh Olympics as one nation so that the athletes can perform their best against the world and not against Korea and Korea. These talks are trying to be concluded before the Beijing Olympic Games and this is all over the Korea news and media. I hope this information is helpful to you and I look forward to working with you.   Master Mencia VIII dan President USANTF   --__--__-- Message: 5 From: Ray Subject: Re: [The_Dojang] (no subject) To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 15:30:17 -0800 (PST) Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net > Master Mencia is with the Chang Un Group, He's the US President > representing Chang Un here's the email he sent me. I suspect that if any of the three ITFs were to merge under the WTF it would be the North Korean ITF. I guess time will tell.
