That's what it looks like from my limited experience, as well. I'd also add that GM Choi seems to be focused on re-establishing the ITF in South Korea. There have been at least a few ITF seminars there, the most recent being an Umpire Course which was rather well attended acording to the write up over on itf-admin.com. The ITF World Championships were also hosted by ITF-Korea back in 2004 and combined both senior and junior WC's. That was a pretty big PR move, I'd say. The PTF has meted a three-month suspension on Singson effective last Feb. 11, association deputy secretary-general Noli Gabriel revealed to Malaya last Saturday. "It's the minimum sanction for athletes who violated the anti-doping policy for the first time," said Gabriel. "Inunahan na namin kahit wala pang (World Taekwondo Federation) decision para tumakbo na ang oras," he explained. "Sayang kasi 'yung time, magaling pa naman 'yung bata. In case they (WTF) decide na i-sanction 'yung athlete, counted na 'yung time she has served." The PTA, headed by Robert Aventajado, cracked the whip on the 19-year-old bantamweight who tested positive on diuretics, a masking agent for performance-enhancing substances such as steroids. According to Gabriel, WTF rules state that a minimum of three months and maximum of two years of suspension can be imposed on first-time violators. An erring jin is banned from participating in national and international tournaments sanctioned by the WTF. The PTA made an appeal to the WTF in behalf of Singson last month but the world governing body has yet to come up with a decision. The UST standout, named MVP in the 68th UAAP taekwondo championships in January despite the doping controversy, is still training with the national team. "She's doing it voluntarily. Allowed naman 'yun. She just can't join national and international competitions," explained Gabriel. Singson, Japoy Lizardo and Kristine Elaine Alora, as well as Athens Olympians Marie Antoinette Rivero, Donald Geisler and Tshomlee Go, ruled their respective divisions in the SEAG the country hosted last November and December. --__--__-- Message: 3 From: To: Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 21:42:04 -0600 Subject: [The_Dojang] Jackson Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Well, just got home and had a great time.
