Showbiz personality Monsour del Rosario, a former gold medalist in taekwondo in the Southeast Asian Games, led the opening of the Martial Arts Training Program for 40 PNP-TMG policemen at the TMG conference room in Camp Crame in Quezon City. Del Rosario, who first became taekwondo champion during college at De La Salle University in Manila, was the guest of honor and speaker. He led a martial arts demonstration for the PNP-TMG. "This is part of our personnel reformation and (skills) enhancement program," PNP-TMG director Chief Supt. Errol Pan said. Pan said the two-week crash course in martial arts will involve self-defense skills in karate, aikido, and stick and knife defense under Exequel Noel de la Cruz, a consolidated martial arts instructor who competed in Thailand. Pan designated Senior Supt. Elmer Soria, chief of the PNP-TMG National Capital Region (NCR), as course director for the martial arts training program "to ensure that personnel of the group are wellequipped to be able to perform better and efficient in public service." PNP-TMG personnel welcomed the martial arts training course, saying it will be a good opportunity to hone their skills in neutralizing criminal elements through hand-to-hand combat. (Aris R. This would lead to deeper understanding of the "Art" you have chosen. Or as my Instructor would say," You can't have dessert until you have finished dinner". Curt McCauley Ninjutsu Question. Why is it mandatory to learn Japanese when one learns Ninjutsu? Will there come a time when this won't be necessary?? Afterall, most of us are there to learn the skill. Does anyone here think it's absolutely neccesary to learn the language too? As a beginner I find it time consuming. Any feedback is welcomed.
