A friend of mone in martial arts going on 50 years (amazing isn't it!!) suggested that running martial arts programs for dance studios where the dance operators own the business and I would provide the classes in tkd, is a great way to reduce risk and make a good living. He's done that for the last 20 years and earns a neat $150k per annum!!! Now there's a good idea! Sid Rubinfeld --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "David P. Date: Fri, 16 Jun 2006 06:33:49 -0500 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Unlikely to make any difference... These magazines are slaves to every advertiser with a 9 CD combat set who, after 8 or 9 grueling hours of workout in front of your TV and receipt of huge fees, will ceremoniously send you your blackbelt via FEDEX... We would probably have just as much luck changing the National Enquirer thru positive feedback. I agree that occasionally a well written, reliable article slips thru, but it seems to be happenstance and not worth the cover price... Dave -----Original Message----- From: Jason Thomas (Y!) Perhaps we could make it more worth while, by providing positive re-enforcement when write articles about quality people or content such as this one. It looks like a box with wheels....I say...made by Toyota, gets 37 miles to the gallon, has a ton of room inside, and the AC is cold enough to hang meat in it...any other questions???? Utility and function in my book always overtakes ego and posturing....maybe that's why I study Hapkido!!! Well, let's just say that our side of America is pretty overrun with fakes - akin to cudzu and fire ants..all you can do is try to control them as they are in too deep to eliminate. As more organizations pop up said fakes will find more places to hide and secure their "legitimacy". If you cannot trace your lineage back to the very beginning then your legitimacy can be questioned. Also, regarding the question "What makes a good student?. I think the question should be "What makes a good teacher?" I believe that good students and potential students outweigh good teachers by a large ratio. Fraternally, Michael A. They are not nearly as expensive as window decals, they are quite visible... ***************************************** I was at my local MegaMart and discovered magnetic 8x11 sheets of paper, apparently used to make signs for school projects, etc. These thin magnets are flexible enough to put through your ink jet printer and if you laminate the exposed paper side, you can make them moisture resistant. I also use them to make signs to hang on the fridge to remind my kids to clean up after themselves, but that's a different forum... Among about 100 athletes there will be also sportsmen representing neighboring Georgia. Athletes of all age groups will participate in the tournament, after which the Armenian national team will be formed. In autumn Armenian Tae Kwon Do fighters will take part in the Eurasian championship in Cyprus. (Tae Kwon Do is an Olympic sport, but it is poorly developed in Armenia). --__--__-- Message: 9 From: "michael tomlinson" To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net Subject: RE: [The_Dojang] Re: Big boy falling Date: Sat, 17 Jun 2006 00:25:15 +0000 Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net maybe that was from Dick Cheney,, when they were water buffalo hunting?? A Good Student is one that do not get in trouble, respects other people and gets respect for his action in good will to his attitude. A Good Student is the one that helps at home, does his best in his studies or at his work. thera are many things that make a good student thought the most important is to become a good example for all the people that are around him, uses his humble action and uderstanding with other people.
