The company also runs the Champion Martial Arts studio in Carmel. The lawsuit doesn't target the Carmel location, but the state attorney general's office is reviewing that location's membership offers because of the South Bend allegations, Call 6 for Help's Rafael Sanchez reported Thursday. The South Bend families say they were offered free, 30-day trial memberships. They allege that when they decided to cancel their contract, the company did not allow the cancellation. The attorney general's consumer protection division said state law requires this kind of company to allow customers three days to cancel a contract. The company did not allow this, the division said. One South Bend family said they decided to cancel within three days of signing their contract with the company, but the business would not provide a refund until the family got their credit card company involved, Sanchez reported. An attorney for the martial arts company, Diana Bauer, said she hadn't seen the lawsuit Thursday. She said she would talk to Call 6 about the allegations next week. --__--__-- Message: 9 From: "Gladewater SooBahkDo" To: "the_dojang" Date: Fri, 28 Jul 2006 15:46:38 -0500 Subject: [The_Dojang] MMA Shreveport La August 19th Reply-To: the_dojang@martialartsresource.net I have a question for everyone I have a fighter in the MMA event "Battle Cage 360--Extreme Impact" August 19th. He will be fighting a guy named Mark Smith from Little Rock. 20 years old, no fight record, 5'10" 170 lbs, Kick Boxer with BJJ experience. He has less than one year training. he trains at the West Little Rock Kick Boxing and BJJ school with Mark Hamolton. The instructor has a Pro record in Kick Boxing and is a 1st Dan in BJJ. My fighter is Ryan Miller, 26 years old. He will cut to 170lbs from 176lbs. He is 5'9" tall. He has been training about 8 months. He is doing very good on the ground in our Jujitsu classes. He rolls with mostly heavy weights 6'1" 215 lbs with the same amount of training, plus I roll with him every class. His stand-up is mostly Traditional Moo Duk Kwan, however I had three pro fights about 10 years ago, so I have tried to share with him what I learned from that experience. I have been padding him up and letting the 3rd dans beat on him. To get him used to getting hit. As his trainer I am 5th Dan with US Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk, 1st Dan in Jujitsu, had three full contact fights My question is does anyone have any suggestions about training methods for this fight. He is a former semi-pro baseball player so he is a natural athlete. His Cardio is good for the 3 rounds. He will not gas. Thoughts JC Get more from the Web.
