The key is intense focus and concentration and then you will only be focusing on the attacker and not the crowd first. As you progress, you'll need to be aware of everyone and everything for real life scenarios. as far as being out of shape, optimixe your diet, and exercise, even if at first it's just a brisk walk. as time goes on, add more exercises. I'm not sure of the type of exercises you do in aikido, but I know in TKD a person can lose weight and develop strength in a good way. I'd say focus on cardio first and foremost then strengthening exercises, flexibility exercises, etc secondly. Jye "Stovall, Craig" wrote: <>> <>> --------------------------------- Stay in the know. I am a HapKiDo teacher for nearly 30 years in the copuntry of Panmama. The count system is of course depending on the numeric use of it, like in English we count as we have all learned to do so. For exsamplewe count one this two that and also use numbers to say certain other things. In corean also we count like in english, certain things we use 1,2,3,4, as one, two, three, four etc and also use 1st, 2nd,3rd,4th etc as IL, Yee, Sam; Sa; Oh, Yuk/Ruk, Chil, Pal, Ku, Sip as 1rst, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th. In Korean we use one etc like this: Hana, dul, set, net, dasot, yosot, ilgop, yodol, ahop, yol as from 1 to 10 and from eleven (11) to 20 like this: Yol Hana, Yol Dul, Yol Set, Yol Net, Yol Dasot,  Yol Yosot, Yol lLgop, Yol Yodol, Yol Ahop, and 20 as Su Mul The rest are in the other counting group like this from eleven11 to 20: IL, Yee, Sam; Sa; Oh, Yuk/Ruk, Chil, Pal, Ku, Sip and Sip IL, Sip Yee, Sip Sam, Sip Sa, Sip Oh, Sip Yuk/Ruk, Sip Chil, Sip Pal, Sip Ku and 20th is Yee Sip, etc. You can find this in the internet in a quiker way by writing corean numbers in the search bar. Have a nice study search. HAP  Ramon NavarroHapKiDo SabomNimSong Moo Kwan HapKiDoPanama Republic of Panama  1.
